X-men Part Two: Second Genesis

         after the positive respones on the first article of my x-men story and fancast, I am keeping working more on more storylines, castings, and this time following the timeline, I am introducing the new x-men. as my sotry was inspired by x-men second genesis and ultimate x-men stories:

X-MEN 2: SECOND GENESIS

         Years after the first movie event happened, the missiles event, the world has became more guarded about mutants and their existence, their powers and the danger they impose on humanity’s life. Years after the event of the first movie, The X-men has became one of the most known mutants on earth, Yet, Xavier try to keep it hidden because of the danger that imposes on mutant children of Xavier institute.
The USA government now has targeted the x-men and kept them under check, as new enemy emerged threatening the X-men and Xavier, Stephen Lang, a long old colleague of Charles Xavier which he worked with him at time when Charles was a teacher specialized in genetic and discovering the origins of mutants, Lang always had resentment towards mutants that it reasons goes way back to Lang’s past, as consequences, Lang spent his life trying to eradicate mutants same as Stryker did before, Langs offers a project to the president of USA, jailing and execute the x-men  or consider them as terrorist due to the connection that Xavier has with magneto and how they easily could turn to be the same thing, The project was soon turned down by The president as he fears to cause political conflict, Although, Langs project was soon welcomed by Bolivar Trask and Colonel Wraith as they add it up to what they called WEAPON X:

Weapon X is an program long created, a secretive government program, made by Bolivar Trask along other scientist and rebelled shield colonels, the weapon x is the antithesis of the x-men, where Xavier seeks to help young mutant, the weapon x instead exploit mutant and brainwashes them to turn them into assassins, while Xavier seeks peace and harmony between human and mutants, Weapon x hold the symbol that mutant are only living weapon needs to be used.



Charles Xavier was one a part of Weapon X, Kidnapped Charles and brainwashed, once was used as an agent to serve with his special power ,the department evil causes, But, yet Charles was able to free himself from the weapon x project and fought against it, until it disappear and was never heard of it again, but now and again The Weapon x rose again to use mutants and exploit them after what happened with magneto and their goal is to use the x-men and to deform their image and the mutants image ,as to brainwash mutants and use them as weapons to terrorize humans.

The evil triad (Trask,Lang,Wraith) set up a trap for the x-men, as they radiated a huge field of energy planted in island, Pacific island Krakoa, that triggered Xavier power so sent his x-men to explore this energy coming from the island, as soon as, The x-men arrived, It was a set up, a group of sentinels was launched to attack, a group of weapon x agents, a mutants brainwashed agent works for the department, some of them willingly, Sabretooth  and native American mutants John Proudstar and the Morlocks leader Callisto, together they took down alongside the sentinels  the x-men, the only survivor was Scott summers aka Cyclops, the traumatize Cyclops soon travelled back to the institute to inform Professor Xavier , Charles quickly examined the mind of his student, he came to conclusion that it was the work of weapon x and Bolivar Trask and his follower of anti-mutant , as consequence, Charles had to take an action and to save his own students for weapon x captive and his refusal to let the same thing happen to them as it did to him.
 


Charles has already been in contact with one of Weapon X project and former agent for this secret organization, Logan A.K.A Wolverine, this mutant with long lost past come to an agreement with Charles Xavier, to help him get into and to break into the weapon x as Wolverine was the most special operative and covert agent for weapon x, Knowing all sorts of their underground activity, in exchange, of helping him to recover his lost memories .As a result, Wolverine joined the x-men.

Another covert agent for Weapon X, is Kurt Wagner, a German originate mutants, called nightcrawler after being saved from the circus and being killed by village people, was now is a weapon used by the organization, to achieve their goals, as Kurt once tried to kill the president of the United States, although, Xavier reached the mutant and convinced him to serve a better cause, a good cause, better being used as a weapon and slave for evil motives.

Another mutant soon joined the team, Ororo Munroe, once was a partial part of Morlocks, a gang of mutants leaded by callisto, after Ororo was saved from the wars in Africa, she joined them for a hope to belong with her kinds, until, she got dragged into callisto plans, she joins Xavier team of new x-men. Also another mutant joined the group, Peter Rapustin, after his mutation developed, He decided to travel to America and join the x-men, more than that, another comer John Proudstar, the brother of the brainwashed agent, John Proudstar, as the latter joined in the sake of helping his brother and not to mention the fiery Japanese mutant Shiro Yoshida who is power become uncontrolled therefore he joined the x-men for help.

and at last, Sean Cassidy, a close friend of Moira MacTaggert who is been spying on trask, by working in his industries as doctor specialized in mutant genes, therefore, She called for banshee help to join the x-men. All together, they formed the NEW X-MEN. As soon as, the team gathered, an attack happened in the city, executed by the x-men and planned by Weapon x, a brainwashed, Jean Grey and Angel, Iceman, Havok and Polaris, attacked the city of San Francisco, terrorizing human as it was planned for, until, the new formed x-men confronted the old ones in battle trying to reach into them, moreover, a couple of sentinels was launched in motive to attack the x-men, the original x-men surrender  easily to the sentinels as it was planned for. It was the goal of making the mutants looks in bad image, even the x-men, and makes the world lose faith in them, and encourage building more sentinels in order to eradicate the danger of mutation the plan successes, and people become more terrified of the mutants and big sentinels project were launched. Worry Charles has contacted an old friend and student of his, Hank McCoy, now one of world most famous scientist, to help him reach to his old teammates; Hank was able to access government file, locating the facility of weapon X.



As soon as the x-men arrived to the location, It was another trap by trask and his people, the island was actually a spacecraft, which took off, as soon as, the x-men arrived, although, the x-men were able to save their old colleagues but as a result to the violent fight with the Weapon X agents:



-The X-MEN lost Thunderbird.

-Hank McCoy was transformed into the beast after being attacked by the sentinels and the only way to save him was to give him the serum that transformed him and saved him.

While being in space, the spacecraft was on verge of blowing off, but Jean Grey, was able to stop, the explosion, and redirect the ship to the orbit of the earth, while, doing that, jean has been exposed to raging cosmic storm, that jean body’s absorbed it.  The spacecraft landed safely but from the deep dark water of San Francisco, Jean Grey rose as THE PHOENIX.
 

 
The goal behind the story:

-Explore Charles Xavier hidden past as an agent weapon x and to deepen the relationship between Charles and his student.
-Achieving the final rupture between humans and mutants
-Exploring Weapon x as project and the sentinels
-Find a proper way to introduce Wolverine and the other new comer without making look cheesy or corny like the comics
-Give a chance to each character for proper backstory and a screentime to each character
 
 
   
Older and more different than their younger counterparts, the X-men lived to be one of the most famous mutant on earth after the missiles event that place in the 80’s, but more than that it pout the x-men into a danger, as they gain villains thought out time, anti mutant protestor such as Trask and Lang

Ralph Fiennes as Charles Xavier:



I think Charles Xavier would be center of the movie; I wanted to focus on him, neither magneto nor wolverine, as the previous movies did, give Charles Xavier more of back-story and history, give the audience something different and time for Charles to shine, by making Charles a weapon x project and previous agent, a time where Charles where brainwashed and being used, with his power, as a weapon for Trask industries, but yet Charles was able to free himself from Weapon x.

I wanted to be creative with Charles history that’s why I given him this story. And I chosen for the role a popular choice, Ralph Fiennes, who is quite young for the role and more of a big name to helm the movie and the franchise, I did want unknown to play the character, but instead, I’ve choose more known actor and capable of level up sir Patrick Stewart performance  

Alex O'loughlin as Scott Summers “Cyclops”:



I also wanted to give Cyclops more attention in this movie, as being a leader of the x-men, I didn’t like in the x-men movies, and how neglected Scott was. Focusing only on wolverine as a leader of the x-men, instead I want Scott to be the leader, to lead the new x-men and the old ones, and show him more as the disciplined taskmaster Cyclops

Although Mr.Mardsen done a good job as Cyclops, as he looked like the character, but wasn’t given much time to act or screen time, as my choose for a recast, I went with Alex O’loughlin that you might recognize him in hawai five as the tought cop which strikes at what Cyclops would be, plus he has the lean and slim look close to scott and the right height.

Rosalind Halstead as Jean Grey “marvel girl”:



Jean grey will be kidnapped during the movie and utilized, by weapon x, project as a weapon to serve the department evil causes,but yet, we get to see her get some action, during the battles with sentinels and the new x-men and finally the final sequence where she transform into the phoenix.

Rosalind Halestead is a British model turned actress, she is a new comer, that fits the description for the character, not to mention the proper age, as she is young than my pick for Scott, and to avoid the famke problem, plus she is a good actress, that, In my opinion, can play the soft and caring protective jean as she is been seen in Wuthering Heights, but yet a strong and calculating.

Warren Kole as warren Worthington Angel:


Same as jean grey above being kidnapped and used as a weapon x, for the role, I went with, Warren a well known tv actor that acted in several show such as common law, that I think with his blonde look and proper acting he would be good angel, not to mention a good voice that would be menacing when angel becomes archanagel.

Dean Geyer as Bobby Drake “Iceman”:

I thought Iceman in the x-men movies, was way bit serious for my taste, maybe he didn’t have the same traits as the character was in the comic, more of douche jerk bobby, yet a funny and humorous side , not to mention the playboy side and adventurous side of him, I picked this thespian as my pick for bobby, you might recognize him from Terra Nova and glee and so other project, he is used to play Iceman type of characters, many of them, the role won’t be stranger to him plus he is the right age for it.
Iceman role in movie would be the same the latter, being used by weapon x to terrorize the city in the intention to make the x-men looks horrible and mutants in general.
 
Mike Vogel as Alex Summers “Havok”:


I was inspired by a several fancast from the site, to choose mike vogel as my final pic for the role, once he auditioned for Captain America but wasn’t lucky enough, I think he would nail the role of Scott more laid back and carefree brother Alex, which he want only an normal adventurous life away from the x-men with his love Lorna Dane, but was called for the mission which it leaded of him being captured

Arielle Kebbel as Lorna Dane “Polaris”:

To be honest Lorna Dane is one of my favorite x-men, because she differ from jean grey, she is quite adventurous, risky and intense persona, more than jean grey, as she can stand on her own two feet, and maybe bit crazy also. For the role I have chosen a known tv actress Arielle Kebbel that you might know her from the vampire diaries, as the sassy Lexi, I think Arielle can pull of a good Lorna.
 
 
 
As a cameo in the movie not a big role Daniel Craig as Hank McCoy “the beast”:

Hank McCoy will not be in the movie until later, as he gives help to his old friend Charles to find his old teammates, by accessing the trask files, that hank hacked, but yet, I thought in this movie it would be cool, if we finally see a transformation to the blue beast that we know, as it was a consequence, of the severe injuries with the sentinels that made hank inject himself with serum to save his life.

I don’t how people going to feel about this pic, hmmm, I saw Daniel craig in the golden compass and he shown some of hanks traits as a intelligent man, although, he has also a good voice which also be cool but I am only worried about the pay check  as he is to famous to play the role.
 
The new x-men are the new mutants that joined Xavier team of gifted mutant, I tried to find each of them a way that by it they became a member of the x-men, trying to be creative bit, and not going with the comic way, of professor Xavier locating them and brining them to the team, while I made it more an act of destiny.

Zach McGowan as Logan/Wolverine:

The most famous x-man, thought, wolverine made his name by what the movies offered him from attention, also, the comics, but I still I try to make wolverine less center of the attention, not because he is not cool, he is fricking cool, but to give each character it right of developing through the movie. X1 and especially X2 focuses a lot on wolverine backstory neglecting other characters it called the x-men not wolverine. That being said, in my own version, introducing wolverine was based on the fact that he was a project for weapon x, a covert agent for them, but yet his memories were erased, living the man with a blank history. And giving the fact that he was a weapon x mutant, Charles Xavier intended to follow him and track him down, reaching for his help in exchange of his memories.

Well, Wolverine is a hard to cast, Hugh Jackmen is basically irreplaceable, but yet, there were some of bold choices for the role, from Christian kane to Scott Cann, with me trying to keep it original as possible, I went for another candidate for the role, Zach McGowan, a well known tv actor and voice over actor, known for his role in Shameless and Black Sails, visually, he is perfect for the role, he has the edgy look to him yet dark, he is just like wolverine not pretty boy scott summers but still lady’s magnet, as for the acting, I believe that he could off dark and edgy character such as he did in black sails.

Aneurin Barnard as Kurt Wagner “Nightcrawler”:


As in the ultimate version, Nightcrawler, was an agent for weapon x, I was inspired by that story, also from x2 when nightcrawler tried to kill the president, I want also to use that as a way of showing how mutant are used as assasins. Of course, we still get to see backstroy, for kurt how he was used in circuit by Professor Xavier and giving his freedom, yet, kurt was brainwashed and was used as a weapon for the hidden organization, until, professor Xavier reaches to him once again.

Aneurin is from wales, the United Kingdom actually, I first watched him as King Richards in the white queen but I loved him more in the Moonfleet , where he stroke me as a proper choice for the lovely gentle nightcrawler, and he has somewhat mysterious aura around him and would be cool to see he in demonic make up, he has also the look
 
Tracey Heggins as Ororo Munroe:

In my version of the story, Ororo is a survivor the wars in Africa and run away to American, where she became a partial member of the morolocks , as a desire, to be with her own kind, but as being dragged into callisto evil plans of exploiting the morolocks, storm breaks up and joins the x-men to stop her and belong to a better cause

I thought that Halle Berry done a good job as storm, but yet she didn’t stay faithful to the role, as lack of afterican accent, as a recast choice, I went with another actress that I founded appropriate for the role, Tracey Higgins, from the twilight series, where she played an Amazonian vampire, which I think she done good job, and she is visually perfect for role not to mention she is very tall and beautiful, and can pull of majestic storm.

Georgiy Gromov as Piotr “Peter” Rasputin /Colossus


Colossus after the progression of his mutation and the rise of anti mutant manifestation in Russia, fearing that harm will happen to his family; he travels to America and joins the institute as member of the x-men.

My pick for the role Georgiy Gromov is an actual boxer/actor, who is from Russian origins, born in 1983 and has the right age for the character, he was in the darkest hour, where I first saw him and I thought he would be cool as colossus if he can pull of good acting
 
Shawn Doyle as Sean Cassidy “Banshee”:


Banshee will be introduced in the movie through Moira, in her attention to help Xavier find his student I choose the Canadian actor Shawn Doyle to play the role of Banshee, just because of his performance in the tv show Endgame as witty smart yet funny cheese player, I think he can also maters the accent as he did on the show, and he look like Sean and is of proper age
 
Chaske Spencer as Thunderbird:

Thunderbird joins the team of x-men when his brother warpath is being taken by weapon x so in order to save his brother, he joins the team. I just went ahead and picked a random Native American actor to play the role since I saw his work in twilight, he stroke me as the older brother Proudstar
 
Brian Tee as Shiro Yoshida/Sunfire:

Sunfire joins the x-men team after his power developed and become more danger to the people around him and that due to the behavior and arrogant and fiery persona of Shiro that controlled his power and therefore he tries to join the x-men to gain control over his power, as I was inspired by some of fancast here in site I chosen Brian tee as pick for sunfire just because of his performance as arrogant bastard in fast and furious
 
As I done with my first casting, I’ll keep the cast for these three, Bolivar trask and Stephen lang and wraith, locked up for  unknown actors, as the role have a limited range that the right actor can play, there is so many actor that can play the role and I will waste my time casting them in my opinion.
 
James Prestons Rogers as Victor Creed/Sabretooth:


Just like the version of the ultimate version, Sabretooth, was an agent for Weapon x. Who helped hunt down the x-men so in my adaption, creed will play the same role as an agent for weapon x and mean nemesis of wolverine in the movie.

As for my choice for the movie I went with James Rogers, despite I loved Leiv as sabretooth in wolverine origins, I think James is closet look to what I imagine Sabretooth when I saw him in lost girl, plus he has the right height and the look for the character.


The leader of the morolocks and main nemesis of storm in the movie, I thought Cynthia is quite perfect for the role after watching the vampire diaries, as she can pull of good calculating character yet so cunning

Kalani Queypo as Warpath:

You might recognize him for the new world, Kalani has the right age to play the young brother of thunderbird, the brainwashed and used, he will play more major role in the coming installments of the x-men

Cameo:

Embeth Davidtz as Moira mactaggert :

Moira works as a spy for the Trask industries and try to support her lover Xavier for his search to find the x-men, Embeth is a strong character actress who can play from tough to sweet, she is the right person to portray moira
