I’m back with a new (maybe not original) idea that fits into my DC Universe which is a Young Justice film which will feature all of the original members of the team from the animated series. This film will reintroduce Kid Flash (Dylan Obrien) and Dick Grayson Robin (Josh Hutcherson). It will introduce Artemis, Aqualad, Ms. Martian, Red Arrow, Rocket, Superboy, and Zatanna, The Team will take on the League of Shadows lead by Ra’s al Ghul. If you haven’t seen the series this may contain SPOILERS.
The Team
Dylan O'Brien as Kid Flash
Dylan is a fresh faced funny actor with the charisma to pull off Kid Flash (Wally West). He is my pick to replace Flash (Barry Allen) on the next Justice League film (Fan Cast). Wally dies on the show after coming out of retirement for one last mission but I’m going to tweak his story to fit into my DC Universe.
Josh Hutcherson as Robin
There is no question that Aqualad was the leader on the animated version of the series but for the movie I want Robin to take the co-lead similar to how he did with The Invasion when Aqualad went undercover. Hutcherson was my selection because he has strong characteristics that fits perfect for this Robin who eventually will become Nightwing and will have his own feature film (Fan Cast Coming Soon).
Michael B. Jordan as Aqualad
Aqualad is the leader of the Team he was the protégé of Aquaman. He would go on to serve alongside his King and like the other sidekicks he wanted to prove himself worthy heroes. Along with Robin and Kid Flash they were assigned headquarters under Mount Justice after finding Superboy. Jordan is an up and coming actor with great range and talent. He was the choice because of his work in Chronicles and Red Tails where he showed off his acting ability.
Steven R. McQueen as Superboy
Superboy comes off as very defensive, angry, and apprehensive about working with a team in the beginning but eventually settles down. He was one of Lex Luthor’s cloning projects attempting to clone Superman. He has half of Lex’s DNA and the other half is Superman’s. McQueen was the choice because not only does he look the part, but he is great as Jeremy Gilbert on Vampire Diaries. On the show his character goes through significant emotional ups and downs similar to Superboy’s.
Kat Gram as Miss Martian
The niece of Martian Manhunter Miss Martian is one of the strongest if not the strongest telepaths in the series. She is known for her very friendly and bubbly personality but as the series continues she becomes more series but still displaying her caring nature. She and Superboy become very close. She is introduced to the boys by Batman. Kat Gram was the selection because of her role on Vampire Diaries as Bonnie Bennett. On the show she goes through different emotions, ups and downs but always shows her strength. She and McQueen have great chemistry on the show which works well for Miss Martian and Superboy’s relationship.
AnnaSophia Robb as Artemis
Artemis is a protégé of Green Arrow she is the daughter of Sportsmaster and the Hunttress and the sister of Cheshire. She joined the team after running away from her abusive father with the help of Green Arrow using a cover up story that she was his niece. She is very aggressive because of her up brining but is also compassionate especially when it comes to Kid Flash. Robb is the perfect person to bring out those qualities Artemis has she was great in her role in the biopic Soul Surfer she was a true heroine and was great at portraying Bethany Hamilton.
Selena Gomez as Zatanna
Zatanna, the daughter of Zatara (Doctor Fate), is a powerful magician that can create any spell by saying phrases or words backwards. She uses the Team as her escape away from home before getting the ok to join. I am sure I will get a bunch on No’s and a ton of flak for my selection due to her Disney history and the fact that she has played a similar role as a Wizard. I think it works well for because she has the look to pull off Zatanna’s character. Gomez shed her Disney image with a solid performance in Spring Breakers where she plays a church going girl taking a ride on the wild side.
Keke Palmer as Rocket
Rocket was the last member to join the tea before the invasion happened. She even convinced Icon to put on a suite and put their abilities to good use. She is sassy and tough and was disappointed when her partner got inducted into the JL before she did which prompted her to join the team. Rocket won’t play a major role but she will be used. Palmer is not a well know actress and may not be well received, but she was solid in the movies she played in like Akila and the Bee she also had her own show on Nickelodeon True Jackson VP. I think Palmer can be sassy and a heroin.
Colton Haynes as Red Arrow
Red Arrow is rouge superhero and current member of the Justice League. He did not want any part of the Team but sometimes sought them out for help. He and Cheshire will not be together at the start of this movie but I would want to shine some light on their relationship though they are on opposite sides of the law. Haynes will not play a major role, but I think he is the perfect Red Arrow because of his role as Roy Harper on Arrow. I know people will flip out about me mixing universes but I think it can work
League of Shadows
This is a criminal and terrorist organization that was known for terrorizing the Justice League and the Team.
Giancarlo Esposito as Ra’s al Ghul
Ghul is one of Batman’s greatest nemeses and the leader of the Shadows. He is intimidating and imposing with his vast knowledge and life experience. He proves to be a problem for the Team throughout the series. Esposito was the selection because of his portrayal as Gus on Breaking Bad. He was a quiet psycho who was also very intimidating. Ghul would be the commander more than actually getting into the action.
Rosario Dawson as Talia al Ghul
Talia is a former lover of Batman and the daughter of Ra’s. I chose Dawson because she looks the part. I feel that she is perfect for the role especially with her performance as Persephone in Percy Jackson The Lightening Thief.
Randy Couture Ubu
Ubu is a great assassin and the loyal bodyguard of Ra’s al Ghul. Couture is trying his hand at acting and is solid as an action star starring in both Expendables films as Toll Roll.
Rain as Black Spider
Black Spider is agile and a pro at hand to hand combat he shoots a spider web like substance out of wrist. I selected Rain because of his role in Ninja Assassin he is more than capable of putting on great fights.
Cam Gigandet as Hook
Hook is a martial artist who uses a hook as a special weapon. He along with Black Spider and Cheshire were introduced when asked to assassinate CEO of Farano Enterprises Selena Gonzalez. Gigandet can bring something extra to Hook His character in Never Back Down and Twilight were the reasons I choose him for the role.
Craig Parker as Sportsmaster
One of the main antagonist along with his daughter Cheshire, he gives the Team trouble. He is also the father of Artemis. He is very aggressive, arrogant, and cocky he is very calm and doesn’t rattle under pressure. Dustin Clare was the selection because of his role on Spartacus as Gaius Claudius Glaber in Spartacus. I think he can excel in this role.
Brenda Song as Cheshire
Cheshire the sister of Artemis and daughter of Sportsmaster and Huntress she is a very skilled assassin and was trouble for the Team. She tough, does whatever it takes to get the job done, and relishes in the idea of killing. She talks trash much like her father and often makes jokes during her jawing. She and Roy Harper (Red Arrow) eventually get married and have a child so something in her changed. I would like to have this story slowly transition her to the Cheshire we last saw. Brenda Song has the looks, sex appeal, and skills to pull off Cheshire.
Kelly Hu as Paula Crock
Paula Crock is the mother of Cheshire and Artemis she is also a retired criminal formerly known as Huntress. She is a paraplegic after being injured during a job she then took the fall for her husband and served 6 years in prison. Kelly Hu not only has looks the part but also voiced Crock on Young Justice.
This movie will after the MoS sequel, The Flash film, Justice League film, and Batman film but before the JL Part 2. This film will not be an origin story for any of the heroes but some flashbacks will explain certain beginnings. The plot of this movie is set around the time between the end of the original Young Justice and the Beginning of The Invasion. There is a story that could be told because of the time gap and I would really like to focus on a creative way to do so. I don’t want to bore you with a huge plot right now unless requested, but you can use your imagination. Please leave any comments or questions and as always THANKS FOR READING.
