ANDOR And THE PUNISHER Star Ebon Moss-Bachrach May Be In Line To Play The Thing In FANTASTIC FOUR

While Hollywood is on the brink of shutting down, yet another Fantastic Four casting rumour has started doing the rounds online and it looks like a second contender for The Thing has been added to the mix.

For months now, we've been met with seemingly endless Fantastic Four casting rumours. It wasn't that long ago so-called scoopers started claiming the entire ensemble had been set by Marvel Studios, though it wasn't long before those reports were refuted.

In case you've forgotten, we'd heard the plan was for Adam Driver to play Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Margot Robbie to star as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Paul Mescal to "Flame On!" as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Daveed Diggs to transform into the ever-lovin' blue-eyed Ben Grimm/The Thing.

Oh, and don't forget Antonio Banderas as Galactus!

Now, r/DCEULeaks (an admittedly unexpected source, albeit one that claims to vet its sources) is reporting Ebon Moss-Bachrach is set to play the Thing in Fantastic Four.

The actor is of Jewish descent and recently played Arvel Skeen in Andor. His past credits include The Punisher and Girls, while he also recently received a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his work in The Bear.

While Skeen is no means a household name, The Thing could be a role that he really makes his own. Any actor who plays Ben Grimm will be required to bring the hero to life with motion capture, making it a physically demanding part which is going to live or die on their performance.

Again, we're going to take this with a pinch of salt for now and would suggest you do the same. Hollywood is on the verge of a shutdown amid striking writers and actors, so if any official Fantastic Four casting was on the horizon, then it's likely a long way off now.

Work on the script ground to a halt back in May so we also won't be shocked if the release date below changes in the months ahead. Hopefully, we'll have brighter news to share soon!

Fantastic Four is currently set to be released in theaters on May 2, 2025.
