Being self-aware is important. Love what he said and how he said it.
He understands the medium.
Which means the fans but also Marvel Studios as an entity.
He knows that Feige has HIS plans and if they can work it out, it'd ve great.
But after the recent news...ehhh i ain't too optimistic about it...

His work on villains is f*cking great tho, Shadow King was the absolute GOAT on Legion.

@Doomsday8888 - Agree. Maybe if Lucy in the Sky's performance and rating weren't so terrible, Marvel would've called him. I think Marvel is still on the fence of handing over Doom to Noah becuz his script was made for the foxverse not the MCU. Doom should get a show like Legion, not a film.

Just finished Legion S3, loved the ending and Switch. It would've been a great trilogy if they were films instead. Not a fan of Lenny's arc or the random musicals in every episode because they unnecessarily prolonged the runtime.

I think we kinda all know this film won't happen.

Thinking of Legion give this guy Doctor Strange 2 and have him lick Derricksons brain a bit.

@MrCamw1 - He would actually be great for a Multiverse of Madness type film tbh

@Hawknaba - exactly.

@MrCamw1 - should get another horror director like Leigh Whannell or Frede Alvarez, horror directors have been working surprisingly well at DC

@dracula - I consider Legion to have horror elements which is kinda what Feige wants, where Derrickson (I assume) wanted full horror. Leigh Whannel would be fun for sure. After Upgrade I'd give him whatever he wants, Marvel or Dc.

@MrCamw1 - No...I think I liked your first word better. Licking brains seems like something right out of Legion. :)

At Marvel, his show was cancelled and his movie isn't happening, maybe he should try DC, it does seem to be the trend.
Jenkins left Thor The Dark World and did Wonder Woman
Gunn was fired from Guardian Vol 3 and is doing The Suicide Squad
Whedon left after Avengers 2 and at least tried to do Batgirl
even a few actors that were under used in the mcu got big roles in DC stuff

@dracula - surprised you mentioned batgirl considering he was actually hired to work on justice league.

@Origame - Yeah but he only did reshoots and pretty sure he only took the job as part of the deal for Batgirl
Origame
Origame - 1/10/2020, 2:12 PM
@dracula - well i mean the reshoots were substantial enough to basically make it a new movie.

Nice to finally have someone who actually likes the franchise and isn't known for his action sensibilities helm a Star Trek movie.

I’ve been binging The Man In The High tower over the past week or so. The entire series from season 1/episode 1. And I love it!
And while I watch Rufus Sewell as John Smith I keep thinking how he would make a wonderful Victor Von Doom.

Personally I don’t want to see Dr. Doom introduced without establishing the FF in the MCU properly. No need to rush. Like the song says, “Take your time. Do it right.”

You could set a Doom movie around the end of the Cold War and the collapse of the Soviet Union. Have Doom be a kind of exiled prince type of character living and studying in New York with a young Reed as one of his classmates. Have Latveria be a Soviet satellite state, and have the US backing Doom as a revolutionary, sending him back to Latveria to help liberate his country. The Americans don't actually expect him to succeed, they just want to stir up some trouble for Moscow but against the odds and thanks to Doom's genius, Soviet rule in Latveria collapses and in the MCU version of history, Doom's success in Latveria is what causes the domino effect around Eastern Europe that leads to the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the USSR.

Rather than being a puppet president for the US though, Doom, who harbours deep resentment towards the west for abandoning Latveria to the Soviets in the first place, closes the borders to the country completely, effectively turning his country into a European North Korea, completely isolated from the world, the difference being that because of Doom's genius, Latveria and it's people thrive under his rule.

This would then set up a Fantastic Four movie set 30-40 years later (yeah, I imagine Reed to be in his 50's, maybe pushing 60 in an F4 movie rather than another "young" version) where some kind of international incident, maybe a SHIELD assassination attempt against "King Victor" prompts Doom to end his isolation and seek to expand his utopia to the entire world, bringing him into conflict with Reed and the F4.

There are rumors that Hawley's Star Trek has already been canceled. At the very least, from what the rumors are saying there is no chance of Hawley or anyone else making a Star Trek movie that uses the Kelvin Universe that was created by Abrams or that has Abrams' Bad Robot involved in any way. CBS/Paramount have merged back together and they can now make Star Trek movies that align with the Prime Universe, which due to various licensing agreements makes more financial sense, on top of probably having a larger potential fan base. So if Hawley does end up making a Star Trek movie, it probably will somehow be a reboot that goes back to the Prime Universe. More than likely, we have seen the last of Chris Pine as Kirk.

As for Dr. Doom, I have no interest in a movie that involves him without the Fantastic 4. Honestly, I have little interest in the Fantastic 4 either. The Thing is basically a copy of Hulk, and Reed Richards' powers are kinda dumb. But it sounds like Feige is determined to use them, so if he does then Doom should at least start out as their villain before possibly becoming a villain in the larger MCU. I could maybe see a Disney+ show about Doom, but not a movie.

I'm so stoked that this guy is going Star Trek. I wish they had given him a Star Trek series, maybe even Picard, but we'll see. Enough of the whiz bang Star Wars wannabe Trek. I want the cerebral Star Trek of old back
