DOCTOR DOOM Project From Marvel Studios Appears To Be In The Works... And Howard Stern Is Involved!

This is an odd one, but radio shock-jock Howard Stern appears to have revealed - seemingly inadvertently, possibly on purpose - that he's involved in an upcoming Doctor Doom project from Marvel Studios.

Has Howard Stern been cast as Doctor Doom in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

As bizarre as this notion may seem, it does appear to be the conclusion many have jumped to after the controversial radio shock jock had a "hot mic" issue while signing off for the day. Seemingly unaware that his mic was still on, Stern revealed that he was involved in an upcoming Doctor Doom project when asked if he had any work lined up for the summer.

“They’re going over the schedule with me and it’s gonna suck,” Stern said, before adding: "Well, I told you I’m gonna do Dr. Doom, but believe me, I’m f*cking miserable about it. [I] called Robert Downey, Jr. and I was asking him acting techniques.”

Yeah, we're not really sure what to make of this. Though there's always a chance Stern is simply having some fun with his listeners, most seem to believe that this was a genuine mistake, which would obviously confirm that Marvel Studios is developing some sort of Doctor Doom movie or TV series.

Of course, even if this does prove to be the case, it doesn't necessarily mean Stern is playing Victor Von Doom himself, as he only indicates that he's involved with the project in some capacity. Another theory doing the rounds is that Stern was actually referencing the planned Fantastic Four reboot, and has indeed been cast as the iconic villain.

Have a listen for yourselves below, and let us know what you make of the audio in the comments section.

@Sephiroth - Yeah, me neither. He may be involved somehow, maybe even playing a character, but there's no way he's playing Doom.

@CorndogBurglar - Who in their right minds would actually think Howard Stern is playing Doctor Doom?

I used to listen to Stern in the mornings until he ran away and, frankly, thought he'd already retired when that didn't work out for him but I guess he's still tooling around? Good on him. My favorite bit before that was when the Pope died, and he played one of his speeches, but had AC/DC's Hells Bells overlapping it.

Complete bullshit, though. It's literally what he does.

@Reeds2Much - He's still SiriusXM's highest profile host. His show has greatly evolved in the last decade into more of a talk show with frequent guests. He's also not doing the show five days a week live. Last time I listened around 5 years ago, you were lucky if he was live 3 days on any given week.

For all I know he is involved, but for someone who's been doing radio for decades it just seems odd that everyone in studio would forget a mic was on especially when discussing a marvel project? I have a feeling this might be a gag?

@TheSuperMex - It was a "hot mic" issue. Meaning, their mics were accidentally on when they shouldn't be(in this case a commercial break).

I don’t believe this but I’d be down for a Doctor Doom movie.

Even if we assume it’s true, he could be referring to any number of projects…. Audio performances, video games, animation, etc.
