Despite hitting a few bumps in the road, Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four reboot is finally starting to take shape. After losing director Jon Watts (Spider-Man: No Way Home), WandaVision Matt Shakman was enlisted to helm the project, while Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer were recently tapped to pen the screenplay.
Jack Ryan star John Krasinski played a Mister Fantastic Variant in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and the initial expectation was that he might reprise the role in Fantastic Four.
However, we've since heard that Marvel Studios is actually still in the process of casting Marvel's First Family for the MCU. That would suggest that Krasinski was making a one-off appearance as Reed Richards, and Adam Driver (thought to be a frontrunner), Jamie Dornan and Penn Badgley are among those said to be in the running for the team's leader.
Now, though, a reliable social media scooper/leaker has made some bold claims about the direction Mister Fantastic may be taken in. It's said that Marvel Studios is looking for an actor of colour for the role of Reed, and that Andor star Diego Luna is among those being considered.
That's a very exciting possibility, and we'd love to see what Luna would do with the character. Fantastic Four is set to be released in theaters on February 14, 2025.
