Fantastic Four casting rumours continue finding their way online thick and fast. With an official announcement not expected to be made until the SAG-AFTRA strike ends, we expect these reports to continue in earnest for months to come.

It's frustrating but we always try to sift through the BS for you here at ComicBookMovie.com.

Like last night's reports, we'd suggest taking this latest round of claims with a pinch of salt, though they do echo at least some of what we've been hearing about the reboot as well.

According to Beyond The Trailer, Adam Driver, Matt Smith, and Dev Patel are all on the shortlist to play the MCU's Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic. As for Andor star Ebon Moss-Bachrach, he's not being eyed to play Galactus and is, in fact, likely going to be the Herald of Galactus.

However, rather than Silver Surfer, the actor is expected to take on the role of an earlier Herald (based on past reports, that will be Terrax).

It's still unclear whether Joseph Quinn will play the Human Torch, but it does sound like Vanessa Kirby is a lock for Invisible Woman. It's a stellar casting decision on Marvel Studios' part and explains the Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One star's reaction when asked about the role while promoting that movie.

The biggest rumour we have to share with you today is that Fantastic Four will be set in the 1960s, with Marvel's First Family later finding their way into the present day similar to how Captain America was a man out of his time.

If true, this is a clever way to put a fresh spin on the team while leaning into the tone of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's early Fantastic Four adventures. The only problem is, when Reed, Sue, Ben, and Johnny find themselves in the mid-2020s, is there not a risk Mister Fantastic will be far from the MCU's smartest man?

Nonetheless, we're intrigued and hope for some slightly more solid news sooner rather than later.

Fantastic Four is set to be released in theaters on May 2, 2025.
