I was flipping through the channels and I saw a new TV spot; it shows many shots of all four of them together, Reed disarming some men with his powers, and Thing throwing part of a tank.

I'll admit it looks better than what I initially expected but the Thing still looks kinda shit, and due to his appearance I think they'll go the whole Ultimate 'rock cacoon' route, which is rather a shame but realistically a better option than his current appearance.

It could still be a good movie, it's just not what I want to see in a Fantatsic Four movie

I guess from what I have seen so far they har based Reed Richards on more of a contemporary Tech CEO type - Like your Snapchat, Facebook or Google Type - which, as they are trying to appeal to a certain modern audience probably works as an audience today probably associates with those types of people being our current innovators in technology.

That being said, as much as I think I understand this new Young, Hip and Cool image they are going for, I prefer Reed as an older, wiser man, as I think it is a more compelling character. A charcater who chases and does something wrong you just say "Oh, they are young and yet to learn" but an older wiser Reed doing something he perhaps shouldn't or not stopping to ask if what he is doing is right when he should know better is more compelling as we can't just explain it away with the euthasism and nativity or youth, but we have to ask ourselves if Reed's desire to help, cure and improve are driving him beyond what is right, what is it that is keeping his passion alive after so many years, so many failures in some cases that motivate him.

That's basically just my opinion

@Knightrider

This Reed is also based on Ultimate, I can't stand Ultimate Reed

This Reed comes from a broken family, abusive Father, etc. So much different than 616 Reed. In Ultimate, Reed Richards becomes Evil.... Since their following Reeds Ultimate origin, that May be the direction that the movie/franchise is going

This "franchise" isn't going to last long enough for that storyline to play out. Wake me up for the next reboot in a year or two.
