Simon Kinberg To Write And Produce FANTASTIC FOUR Reboot

Fox sure like them some Kinberg. The Hollywood Reporter reveal that the X-Men: Days Of Future Past co-writer has come aboard the studio's Fantastic Four reboot to give the script one final "substantial" do-over. Read on for more..

Fox have gone back to a trusted scribe to pen the latest (and we assume final) draft of their Fantastic Four reboot. Simon Kinberg -- who has previously worked on X-Men: The Last Stand, First Class and the upcoming Days Of Future Past -- is just the latest in a line of writers, including Jeremy Slater, Michael Green, Seth Grahame-Smith and T.S. Nowlin, to take a crack at it. According to THR, Kinberg "may be overhauling the script substantially." He is also on board as a producer alongside Matthew Vaughan. The site say that Chronicle director Josh Trank is still attached to direct, but don't mention any potential casting candidates.

I couldn't give 2 shits about the FF rights reverting back to Marvel. I just wish both studios had joint rights to Galactus and Silver Surfer, similar to the situation with Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch.

may be overhauling the script substantially. See I knew it was something.

If I don't hear any casting for the next 4 months, then I'm going to go back thinking that the rights will revert.

It's so funny how fanboys think that the guys working for Marvel Studios are like Gods or some ish! lol

Looking forward to both Studios releases! Whether it be Fox, Sony or Marvel I'm just glad to see all of these comic book movies getting the attention they deserve!

If this script doesn't work, I wouldn't be surprised if Trank decides to move onto other projects.

Alright, that's cool with me! lol What do you think Marvel will do with the characters when they get the rights back or what would you like to see??

Wow, he's the 5th writer to tackle the script already? Fox, just give up... please.

You people don't realize how great a Fantastic Four movie can be. I haven't heard any news that make this movie sounds like it's going to be bad. Josh Trank is an up and coming director, with Vaughn producing. This guy helped with First Class so I'm sold. And whats with the hate regarding the Xmen 3 script. The script was great, execution was poor. And honestly, if the same exact news was given today but the FF rights were Marvel you all would be like "hell yeah can't wait! Give the guy a chance! Blah blah..."

I hate that about a lot of you. This website is called Comicbookmovie. You would expect the users to support all the movies being released but no, more than half play for favorites.

A FF movie can be awesome. I've been reading the more vintage stuff with Kirby and Stan Lee run and it is amazing. If they take inspiration from there this movie will be awesome.

Have hope people.

agh, i fear that it would further [frick] up the x-men continuity if this movie turns shit, which probably will

The only thing I don't like is that this shares continuity with Xmen. [frick]ing useless.

Any REAL fan wouldn't give a flying [frick] which studio has the rights and would only want a decent FF film. But you're not a fan, you're a fanboy.

Idgaf, i want ALL the rights back so i can get a cameo of the Marvel's first family in the Avenger, a lil Spider-Man in my Wolverin, and, Namor on screen with Hulk. It's more about a united MCU than quality for me. But, i also believe that Marvel with do their creations more justice. It's not about anybody being a god, it's about a better overall product. So, what if you like all the X-Men movies, good for you. I didn't so i'll continue to w dream the impossible dream... If i gotta listen to all you who thought X1 and X2 were good, then you can listen to me say how i hated it or GTFO the thread.

What the [frick] is wrong with some of you? At least they're bringing in writers to make the script better instead of leaving the crappy way it is.

Let the dream of FF die. The rights are going back to marvel and all they really need is silver surfer then galactus later down the line. Yeah yeah everyone wants to talk about the rights but this property is in the wrong hands.
