All we've seen from Marvel Studios' upcoming Fantastic Four reboot is the initial announcement logo, but Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania director Peyton Reed has caught a glimpse of some concept art, and was very impressed by what he saw.
As you may recall, Reed actually pitched his take on Marvel's First Family to 20th Century Fox before Marvel Studios regained the rights to the characters via 2016's Disney/Fox deal, and was asked about his version of the team during an interview with Somos Geeks.
The filmmaker declined to discuss his plans for the FF, however, instead choosing to hype-up the currently in-development reboot. “Matt Shakman is gonna do great,” said Reed. “And I’ve seen initial artwork for the Fantastic Four - stuff around the Marvel offices… it’s gonna be great.”
Reed didn't describe the artwork, unfortunately, but as someone who had his own ideas about how these iconic heroes should be depicted on screen, his vote of confidence counts for a lot.
Casting is thought to be underway at the moment, but aside from some persistent rumors (Jodie Comer as Sue Storm, Adam Driver as Reed Richards or Doctor Doom), we haven't really been given any solid intel on who the studio might be considering for the main roles.
Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer penned the script. Plot details are still a mystery, but Kevin Feige has confirmed that this will not be another origin story for the super-team.
Fantastic Four is currently set to hit theaters February 14th, 2025
