ANT-MAN 3 Director Peyton Reed Has Seen FANTASTIC FOUR Concept Art; Says Reboot Is "Going To Be Great"

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Qunatumania director Peyton Reed has revealed that he's seen some concept art for Matt Shakman's Fantastic Four movie, and feels the reboot is in very safe hands...

All we've seen from Marvel Studios' upcoming Fantastic Four reboot is the initial announcement logo, but Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania director Peyton Reed has caught a glimpse of some concept art, and was very impressed by what he saw.

As you may recall, Reed actually pitched his take on Marvel's First Family to 20th Century Fox before Marvel Studios regained the rights to the characters via 2016's Disney/Fox deal, and was asked about his version of the team during an interview with Somos Geeks.

The filmmaker declined to discuss his plans for the FF, however, instead choosing to hype-up the currently in-development reboot. “Matt Shakman is gonna do great,” said Reed. “And I’ve seen initial artwork for the Fantastic Four - stuff around the Marvel offices… it’s gonna be great.”

Reed didn't describe the artwork, unfortunately, but as someone who had his own ideas about how these iconic heroes should be depicted on screen, his vote of confidence counts for a lot.

Casting is thought to be underway at the moment, but aside from some persistent rumors (Jodie Comer as Sue Storm, Adam Driver as Reed Richards or Doctor Doom), we haven't really been given any solid intel on who the studio might be considering for the main roles.

Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer penned the script. Plot details are still a mystery, but Kevin Feige has confirmed that this will not be another origin story for the super-team.

Fantastic Four is currently set to hit theaters February 14th, 2025

Hopefully they know what not to do based on the last iteration.

@WhatIfRickJames - Every iteration has sucked.

As long as they manage to not do that, it'll be an improvement.

@WhatIfRickJames - Silver Surfer wasn't all bad. Galactus could've been better but overall it was ok.

@BritishMonkey - yeah it was lol

@GirshwinDavies - I disagree. 2005 F4 was great in the sense it was a true comic book movie. 2003 Hulk took that a little too literal.

@Dafoe - To each his own. I disliked both.

@Dafoe - totally agree. They had the right feel to them and aside from the ‘cloud’ there isn’t much to complain about unless of course you just like complaining. The Surfer and Doom were both done very well.

Still feels like they're on Autopilot with this movie.

@BGarlz92 - being the first family of the marvel comics roster i think has put it high on Feige's list to get 'right'. He has heard for years how The Incredibles was a target... how Stan Lee always held out for the FF being done right... how the FF embodies so much about what makes Marvel what it is. I think they will take their time and do it right.

@BGarlz92 - What exactly feels like autopilot? They literally haven't told us anything at all. How can you claim that?

@BGarlz92 -

Alot of pressure with this film. It's the first family and the franchise has had 4 bad films in a row! They are taking their time💪🤝🔥

@TheDoctor1225 - well the director they hired and the writers feel like Fiege was choosing some "Yes" Men so that they would just do as they're told. Phase 4 has been, thus far, mostly underwhelming in terms of quality and this whole phase feels like it hasn't really had anyone's full attention (granted I haven't seen every single bit of Phase 4 content, but most of it). It feels like Marvel sees it self as unstoppable and is now starting to phone things in and I think FF is gonna be a casualty of that.

@AmazingFILMporg - I think the case is, is that FF is an All Stars Game, it needs the absolute best of everything. The best players possible and Marvel is going forward with some decent minor league talent. I wish this was a case of being methodical in execution but a lot of the phase 4 stuff says otherwise.
