In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, [SPOILER ALERT] we were introduced to a Variant Mister Fantastic played by John Krasinski. The hope among fans is that he will be given the chance to reprise the role in Marvel Studios' upcoming Fantastic Four reboot, though with Jon Watts departing the project, we don't know how much longer we'll be waiting to see the movie.
Recently, there have been rumours doing the rounds online that Jurassic World Dominion star Bryce Dallas Howard (who has also helmed some of The Mandalorian's best episodes) will direct Fantastic Four and play The Invisible Woman. At an event for Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic threequel, a fan presented her with a Sue Storm Funko Pop to sign, and she was quick to deny those reports.
"Oh my God! [Laughs] I don’t think it’s happening...I mean, I know [this doesn’t] involve me or anything. I swear to God, I swear to God," Howard exclaimed. "Yeah, yeah, for real. Total rumors. Total rumors, but you know, yeah...Thank you, but I'll sign the [Funko] just for fun..."
She's totally going to be either behind or in front of the camera for Fantastic Four, right?
We've seen denials like this before, and whether Marvel Studios wants her to direct, star as Sue, or do both, it would be a fantastic (pun definitely intended) decision on their part. Then again, there's always a chance these rumours are bogus, so we just have to hope for some official news in the coming weeks.
