Simon Kinberg Reveals Why We Haven't Seen Anything From THE FANTASTIC FOUR

The Fantastic Four finished shooting quite some time ago, but Simon Kinberg has now weighed in on why they're waiting and whether or not he knows when we'll get our first look. We also have an interview with Miles Teller where he talks about why the reboot isn't beholden to the fans...

The Fantastic Four had no presence at this year's Comic-Con, and apart from a handful of leaked images (which may or may not be legit), we've seen literally nothing from the Josh Trank helmed reboot. Comments from the actors have received mixed responses from fans, and even a single official still would surely help win a lot of sceptical comic book readers around. Talking to ComicBook.com recently, writer and producer Simon Kinberg had this to say in terms of an explanation for the lack of official material. "We’re putting it together now, and one of the important things, because this Fantastic Four is a reboot, and is such a different tonality and vibe from those other films, we want to make sure that the first thing we put out really expresses the voice of the movie, and isn’t compromised by not having visual effects ready, or anything like that." So, when will we finally see something? "I don’t actually know when it’s coming out, but I’ve seen all the footage from the movie. I was there for pretty much the whole shoot. It is a very different film from the others, and one that I think is very different from other superhero movies. It’s a very emotional, character-driven, more grounded film than I think people are anticipating." Be sure to check out an interview with Miles Teller below and share your thoughts on these comments in the usual place! The Fantastic Four will be released on August 7th, 2015.

Because a man who can stretch his body, a man made out of rocks, a man who can humanly combust, and a woman who can turn invisible REALLY need to be "grounded"...

Simon Kinberg talks about this film more than Josh Trank.

I think this film will be surprisingly solid.

I'm a little worried about the rumored "found footage" aspect, since I don't want another chronicle, but it's a great cast and Josh Trank is a talent director.

I'm not dying to see it, but when it hits, I'll pay for a ticket.

I don't have any problem with Miles Teller but man oh man this guy has a mouth like butthole. I mean it looks just like an open butthole. He should hurry up and grow that peach fuzz into a mustache or something.

Thats like walking into a restaurant, paying 14 bucks, then being handed a plate of smoldering hot garbage (after the restaurant tried to advertise a 5 star meal).

The Thing and Dr. Doom both looked good in the first 2 Fantastic Four films....

Food for thought.

This isn't a group of characters that need to be shot with the "Nolan Ray Gun."

Batman needed it, Captain America needed it, Fantastic Four doesn't need it. The character are so preposterous, that unless you change their powers, there is no need for it to be "dark."

Why we haven't seen anything from Fantastic four?

Because there is no footage. F4 was a joke we made to troll the CBM community.

The real question is why did someone like Trank get the directors chair for Star Wars ?!?!?!
