I'm sort of suprised. I honestly thought this movie was terrible. Now that doesn't mean I think Louis Letterier can't direct the Avengers, I think he can, but this movie didn't sit well for me.

This movie was awful. Anyone who was planning on spending money to see it should rethink their plans
The action wasn't good enough to compensate for the horrible writing/acting.
nothing about this movie made it worth $10-$18 to see, in my opinion.

MY REVIEW AFTER SEEING IT-POSSIBLE HINTS AND SPOILERS SO SKIP IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE SPOILED--I WAS A BIG FAN OF THE OLDSCHOOL ONE GROWING UP, ITS A CLASSIC..THE NEW ONE, GOOD MOVIE, FUN, CG WAS ON POINT AND IF YOU SAW IT IN 3D IT ADDED A KICK TO IT. IT FOLLOWED THE OLD ONE LOOSELEY USING THINGS FROM THE OLD, SWITCHING THINGS AROUND, NODDING TO PARTICULARS, IT WAS PRETTY GOOD..BUT FOR ME, AND ITS JUST MY VIEW, IF YOU COMPARED THE OLD AND THE NEW, I WOULD STILL FAVOR THE OLD. YEAH THE EFFECTS OF THE OLD ONE PALE TO COMPARISON TO TODAYS CG, BUT IT WAS THE STORY OF THE OLD ONE THAT MAKES IT CLASSIC AND FAR BETTER. I MEAN IN THE OLD ONE YOU HAD A LOVE STORY, YOU HAD A HERO'S JOURNEY, YOU HAD ALL THESE GIFTS FROM THE GODS, IT WAS PERSEUS FIGHTING AGAINST ALL ODDS TO SAVE THE PRINCESS HE LOVES. THE NEW ONE DIDNT HAVE A HERO FIGHTING TO SAVE THE WOMAN HE LOVES, HE WAS OUT FOR REVENGE ON A GOD, NO LOVE STORY, THERES A HINT WITH THE DEMIGOD IO..(WHICH I MUST SAY THAT ACTRESS IS AN ABSOLUTE KNOCKOUT) IT WAS JUST A ACTION JOURNEY, A VENGEANCE THING..BUT ALL IN ALL THE MOVIE WAS GOOD, NEW EYES TO IT WILL LOVE IT..BUT I PERSONNALLY FAVOR THE OLD ONE'S STORY..IT JUST HAS THE MORE CLASSIC DRAMATIC FEEL TO IT. THE NEW ONE, ITS A FUN RIDE.

AWESOME review guys!! I saw the movie in 2D..and It was great, ANYONE looking for the story from the ORIGINAL
clash..you won't find it here! the story is TOTALLY different with only a FEW nods to the original..LIKE
the nod to the OWL..which I liked..but wish they USED the owl!..anyway NO MAGIC HELMET that turn him invisable
and NO sheild...but he does get the sword!..anyway
I liked this movie...but the story is
so NOT like the original and I was HOPING it would be! cause the original CLASH..had a AWESOME story..
If they did the story the SAME and had ALL that
ACTION this would of been a HOMERUN!..
but for now..it gets a B+

Saw it last night....was not impressed. As others have said, poor acting, poor plot development, so on and so forth. This may end up like Eragon....set up for a sequel that never happens.

As far as Jman and Johnny Love, I love how they go all out in their reviews especially this. BUT, I have to disagree with pretty much everything they say. I laughed throughout the movie and I heard chuckles thoughout also. There was ZERO story or plot build up. If I could sum it up like this I'd say Louis Letterer Showed up and Thowed up! It seemed way too rushed. Nothing Epic about this movie. The Kracken was short lived. The worst part of the movie was those silver robot/ tree looking guys with blue LED lights for their eyes and maybe Hades pink eye liner under his eyes. They were pointless!!! And the 2 hunters attempt at humor shouldn't have been in the movie. I wanted to love the movie soooo much. I looked forward and talked about about this movie all the time since it was announced they were making it. Maybe my expectations were too high but still I am very disapointed. Almost every single person in that theatre last night said they liked the original better. Do I think Louis Leterer should have a shot at Avengers? Well he gets a pass because of the Hulk and the CGI was pretty great in the movie, the acting was decent but no story, no plot, no real build up to a climax, no passion or love story. There was a half arse attempt at some love story but it really failled. Great review, just disagree.

If I could compare this movie it would be to the revenge of the fallen. Too much.

hollywood needs to start focusing on story and plot above all else when making a film im so sick of action,action,action,and story gets the back seat.evry film thats made now is nonstopaction 3d wtf? hollywood get back to makeing good story driven films that everyone can enjoy. i mean some action is good when placed right but to much is to much and story is what make any film.

If you have yet to see it and still want to, for the love of God/Allah/Jesus/Your Mum go to see the '2D' version. This film was never meant to be in 3D.

the 3D rendering process is butchery, clumsy, and just generally really quite stupid.

It was a good movie not a great or awful movie. It was worth the 10 dollars, because I was enteratined by it.

The only problem I had was the very ending, because perseus is suppose to mary andromeda. I mean that kind of a big part of the greek myth; they made constellations referin to their marriage.

But I would have said bad things about the movie:(
I did not find Clash to be that good.
It was mediocre for me.
Io was such a mother figure more than a love interest of Perseus.
Hades was awesome but the other Gods really did nothing and Zeus did little.
The Kraken was a huge mothafracker and looked pretty menacing.
However it did not last long in the end lol.
Dialog was bland.
Mount Olympus was only seen in the beginning then the rest was just inside.
Perseus did not seem that strong.
Overall I'd say it was 2 out of 5.

OK boys. I am usually in agreement with you and your reviews, but this time...I must respectfully disagree. I'm not sure you read my review from the other night (which can be found here) but I was highly disappointed in this film. I saw the movie in 2D, as I don't like 3D films, so I can't comment on that, but I felt the CG work was choppy and very unnatural and it pulled me out of the film several times. If you look at the graphics in Transformers (ignore the shotty story), that stuff was amazing to watch! Ver smooth and natural. With Titans, I felt like I was watch stop-motion at times.

As for Worthington...Could he have been more depressing and whiney? He seemed to be channeling his work from Terminator Salvation. He was very one-dimensional and boring.

The story, aside from being extremely different from the original, was quite simple and carried no depth to it at all. The dialogue was corny and the one-liners, as mentioned in your review, were bad.

But, as one movie review to another(s?), I respect your opinion. To each their own! Now...bring on Kick-Ass!

PS: I think your intro is still a tad too long.

My hubby and I are planning on seeing this tomorrow. We won't see it in 3D because we hate 3D but still I am so psyched to see this. I hear a lot of mixed reviews but still gonna check it out for myself.

Pretty entertaining actions scenes, but everything else was pretty much horse shlt. Why didn't they just kill the princess and avoid the deaths of hundreds of people? I mean seriously, they never really explained why they didn't do that. no one even liked the bitch!

It was just "ok". Not a bad movie but not what it could've been. I saw the original for the 1st time last month & tho the special effects didn't stand the test of time to the point where it was almost unbearable to watch & take seriously, atleast the story was simple, focused, & straight to the point. If you never saw the original don't worry, I don't think the makers of this version did either. Fans of the old one will find many things missing, in which Hollywood hoped the modern cgi would make up for it. Wrong! 1st time viewers will be left empty w/ bland, uninteresting characters & a disappointing overhyped climactic releasing of the Kraken. That's it?! Yes, that was the Kraken. Story over. Never thought I'd say this but the original was better. I give it a 'B-'.

P.S. Anyone also think Madusa's cgi reminded them of the Rock as the Scorpion King in The Mummy 2???
