New TV Spot For Brett Ratner's HERCULES Starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

Everyone knows the legend of Hercules and his twelve labors. Our story begins after the labors, and after the legend. Haunted by a sin from his past, Hercules has become a mercenary. Along with five faithful companions, he travels ancient Greece selling his services for gold and using his legendary reputation to intimidate enemies. But when the benevolent ruler of Thrace and his daughter seek Hercules’ help to defeat a savage and terrifying warlord, Hercules finds that in order for good to triumph and justice to prevail… he must again become the hero he once was… he must embrace his own myth… he must be Hercules.

Brett Ratner lost the goodwill of many moviegoers thanks to X-Men: The Last Stand, but with Hollywood's highest grossing actor in the title role, Hercules could be something of a redemption story for the filmmaker. It certainly looks like a lot of fun and the action appears to be top notch. What do you guys think? Also starring, Aksel Hennie, Rufus Sewell, Ian McShane, Joseph Fiennes, John Hurt, Rebecca Ferguson and Tobias Santelmann, Hercules is set to hit theaters July 25th, 2014.

Iron Man was Downey’s only movie of 2013, while Johnson had one huge film, Fast & Furious 6; one big film, G.I. Joe: Retaliation; and two smaller films. Together they added up to $1.3 billion at the global box office.

From Hercules to Black Adam (If he actually is Black Adam), the Rock is portraying ancient badasses! Is that awesome or what?!

I say it does about 110 million in the US and 230 million foreign. And I'd say 90% of US audiences will be disappointed to some degree. 100% of audiences in China, South Korea, North Korea and Japan will think it's best picture material.

I just see the rock acting...he'll never be what Arnold is. I love the Rock but he should avoid starring roles in shitty directors movies.

I'll watch it. IF there's a scene where the Rock beats the ever-loving shit out of Ratner.

There's a scene where he fights a lion. It looks straight outta Frazetta's brain.

I'll be watching this.

I really wish someone would make movies about classical mythology that aren't just using the names (Clash of the Titans, for instance). This movie seems to at least be trying to tell a fairly straightforward version of the Labors of Hercules, which is exactly the sort the thing I want to see. I really like the Rock, too. Even so...

Brett Ratner = Don't Care

Really dig the Rock, Pain and Gain was my favorite film he was in. This is going to bomb so badly. Rock, it time to suit up as Black Adam.
