Will Bill & Ted Have A Third Excellent Adventure?

Will Bill & Ted Have A Third Excellent Adventure?

In 2010 Keanu Reeves joked that he would like critically acclaimed German filmmaker Werner Herzog to direct Bill & Ted 3. Movie Web asked Herzog to comment, and you'll be surprised by his excellent response.

Besides Keanu telling MTV in 2010 that he'd like documentary and feature film directer Werner Herzog to direct, he said that a script was close to being finished. We now know that the script is complete based on co-star Alex Winter informing the press in April of the sequel's status. The screenwriters, Chris Matheson and Ed Solomn, worked on the new script.

When the second film concluded, Bill and Ted had learned to play their instruments and were on their way to becoming the legendary band that would create music that would bring peace and happiness to the world.

What do we know about the third film, the sequel to Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey? More then you think, as Keanu Reeves in that same MTV interview divulged the key driving force of the plot. He said, "When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn't happened. So they've now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there's an element of time and they have to go back."

Excerpt from Movie Web interview:
We chatted with Werner Herzog today in support of his most non-heinous documentary Into the Abyss: A Tale of Death, A Tale of Life, so we decided to see what he had to say about possibly directing Bill & Ted 3. Guess what? If the script is good, he'll do it!

Here is what he had to say about the possibility of directing Bill & Ted 3.

"I have not seen the first and the second (movie). So I do not know for sure. But, if it is a good screenplay, Yes! I am ready for all sorts of wild stuff." - Werner Herzog

Wonder if by go back they mean in the past to help their past selves, if so wonder who they're going to cast for young bill and ted. Think Dave Franco would be a good bill and ezra miller for ted =)

I say bring it, too bad they couldn't get this thing done earlier. I'd love to see them maybe use some old unused footage from the first film and the old Bill and Ted meet their younger versions.

They definitely have to have their kids in this. As well as the princesses, Joanna and Elizabeth.

Catch you later Bill and Ted!!

Excellent! I enjoyed both of the movies but I like the first one better than the second one. I watched the second one when I was kid so the part with the Easter Bunny creeped me out. Thankfully I didn't end up like Ted. :)

If they can get everyone on board I say go for it.

With George Carlin dead already, there's really no point in making this...

If they make a third Bill & Ted it won't be the same without George Carlin playing as Rufus. I guess they will have to come up with some excuse like three and a half men did for Charlie Sheen.

But these were never just movies to Keanu, they were real life. He never left 'Bill & Ted' -- he's still there; in that special place; in character. It started off as a cruel joke, that escalated when supposedly 'one who knows', a person who came from parts unknown and went by the name of Cowboy Curtis, informed him of a life long lesson in that "There’s a difference between knowing the path and walking the path." By this revelation, Keanu locked himself into a mentally confused state, never to return. Now, without the aid of cue cards or a telepromter, all Keanu can say in response to anything is "Woooo!"
