That JOKER AND HARLEY QUINN Movie Is Reportedly Replacing GOTHAM CITY SIRENS
There's a lot of confusion about what that Joker and Harley Quinn movie means for Gotham City Sirens but it now appears as if both that - and director David Ayer - have been dropped by Warner Bros.
Right now, the DC Extended Universe feels like something of a mess. There seem to be half a dozen Joker movies in development, no one quite knows what the deal is with The Batman, and most of their upcoming movies have no release date. Well, following the news that the studios is developing a Joker and Harley Quinn movie from the directors of Focus, it seems Gotham City Sirens isn't happening.
The Tracking Board reports that the Joker and Harley Quinn movie is replacing Gotham City Sirens, a movie which had David Ayer (Suicide Squad) at the helm and Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Captain Marvel) penning the screenplay. It doesn't sound totally dead, though, and it's likely that Ayer and Warner Bros. have parted ways, something which was obvious after comments made at Comic-Con.
Nothing is confirmed right now but with various sites reporting that Suicide Squad 2 is being fast-tracked, we'll hopefully learn more sooner rather than later. We know Margot Robbie was keen on doing something with Harley but it could be that she's now more interested in exploring her ties to the Clown Prince of Crime rather than teaming her up with Catwoman and Poison Ivy! What do you think?
