Forget Captain Marvel, VIKINGS' Katheryn Winnick Now Has Her Eye On Black Canary Role In The DC Films Universe

With a character as popular as Captain Marvel, comic book fans understandably had a long list of actresses they wanted to see play Carol Danvers, but Katheryn Winnick's name came up more often than most. The Vikings star has obviously since lost out on the chance to play the character after Oscar winner Brie Larson was chosen by Marvel, but she's clearly open to taking on another heroic role!

As you can see in the Tweet below, it's not one in the Marvel Cinematic Universe either as Winnick has now expressed an interest in playing the DC Films Universe's Black Canary. Rumour has it that the character will show up in Justice League next year, but if that was the case, we'd probably have heard some casting news by now. The hero's big screen debut is definitely long overdue at this stage though.

Of course, for that to happen, Warner Bros. is probably going to have to bring Green Arrow into the DC Films Universe as well. When and where that could happen remains to be seen, but do you think Winnick would be a good fit for Laurel Lance? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts below.

Depending on their Oliver - why not? Though I'd prefer her in a different universe.

She'd be too perfect for the role. DC likes controversial casting. I'm thinking Melissa McCarthy will seal the deal.
