Not too long ago, we heard that a super villain based on DC Comics' Count Vertigo would be making an appearance on The CW's television series Arrow. This take on the DC villain will be very different from the comic book version; in fact, his name won't even be Vertigo. While being grounded into reality (similar to the other characters on the show) like Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, a deadly new drug called Vertigo "becomes all the rage" in Starling City in the character's first episode, which is scheduled to air in early 2013. Now, we know who's playing the villain. According to TV Line, Fringe actor Seth Gabel will be playing the "scary and nightmarish" antagonist, who is described by a source as "Oliver’s deadliest adversary to date." He previously worked with Arrow executive producer Greg Berlanti on Dirty Sexy Money. You can check out Arrow on Wednesdays at 8 PM EST on The CW.

I hope there's enough elements from the comic to justify this character's involvement. I don't mind the "Nolanization", if you will, but I don't want to see merely a reference to the real comic character.

I don't watch Fringe, so I'm not familiar with the actor.

I can't wait for this episode though! Hopefully Seth Gabel can do the character justice.

@Nomis It will happen. Just like Clark and Lex going from being best friends to mortal enemies on Smallville.
