Micro-News: Idris Elba, SUPERMAN, An ARROW And MARVEL Household And X-MEN Pick-Ups

X-Men: Days of Future Past is back in Montreal to shoot even more pick-ups. Did you an Arrow executive producer and Agent Carter showrunner are married? Idris Elba (jokingly...?)comments on the superhero he'd like to play.

Bryan Singer confirms via twitter that X-Men: Days of Future Past is back in Montreal shooting pick-ups or additional scenes. This is perhaps the second or third time this has occurred so it seems Days of Future Past is getting bigger and bigger.

Arrow and Agent Carter
Did you know Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim and Agent Carter showrunner Tara Butters are married? So how does a Marvel/DC matrimony function? What if Agent Carter air opposite Arrow on Wednesday nights? And who would win in a fight between Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Carter (Hayley Atwell)?

On possibly being in direct competition, Guggenheim stated, "We would have to question whether ABC really wants our marriage to survive! My biggest problem is: Will I be able to rein in my instinct to trash-talk?" And on Arrow vs Agent Carter in an actual fight? Guggenheim joked, "I'm biased but I don't see how Arrow doesn't kick Agent Carter's ass! He has five years of training in the worst places imaginable. I don't think that's a really fair fight. Maybe if Agent Carter was wearing Iron Man armor or something it might be a fair fight. Bring Captain America over and then we'll talk." Tara added, "She's such a different character. She's a spy!"

Idris Elba Superman
For his Vanity Fair feature, Hollywood favorite Idris Elba was asked if there are any remaining superhero roles he'd still like to play? I think Elba is joking when he names Superman but you can watch the vid and judge for yourself.

Elba is being unbeliavably wasted.

Good actor that is completely wasted as Heimdall. Be John Stewart and keep the English accent. Way cooler sound than that generic deep American black guy voice you always get.

Elba as Superman would be epic. The guy has so much charisma.

Idris Elba should be a hero in a solo movie. Hemidall just isn't a big enough role for his talent. It's such a shame.

Also, great news about DOFP. Maybe more Rogue scenes? Hopefully.

Thor, Ghost Rider, Prometheus... WASTED. Pacific Rim really gave Elba what he suffered from not having. I hope I'm not the only one who noticed that Thor 2 tried as hard as it could to give him more screen-time, but it wasn't enough in the end.

@gambitfreak, u hate the guy who "created the cbm genre"? the guy who "directed The Usual Suspects so that makes him the best cbm director"? U hate the guy who looks like a flannel douche bag in every pic?...i don't get the hate.

I hope Bryan Singer is doing reshoots for Rogue. And maybe filming scenes with Cyclops... Probably wishful thinking about Cyclops.

I just remember that story about how James Marsden was in Montreal, but it never lead to anything.

Look, I love Idris Elba, and I hope he ends up with a more prominent role in a CBM down the line, but I don't EVER want a black Superman. I hate changing a characters race unless they're a minor character. If DC ever does a project where the multiverse comes into play, then id be cool with him being Superman of Earth 23 or something like in Grant Morrisons recent run in Action Comics. That was cool.

Oh, and what are the chances that Hayley Atwell wears a lot of low cut tops on Agent Carter?, cuz that would automatically make it better than AOS.

yes he would be a great john stewert but they have to set it up cause he came after hal later on. So how can you set up a good dcu by jumping over a founding member. If they do throw him in the mix hopefully they will at least acknowledge that hal was the first gl from earth.

Wow Fox is starting to look real desperate with this DOFP. Im the type that gives them a chance at least when they do reshoots because its usually the studio wanting to enhance the movie....but this just seems like a desperate scurry to make this movie amazeballs. Of course though, Im not there, I don't know what they're shooting so it could be minor...but considering this is already their most expensive production since avatar, wouldn't they be trying to settle down the budget by now?

There are so many superheroes he'd be a good fit for. Without even looking shit up, I'm thinking Spawn, Green Lantern (John Stewart duh), Steel, Luke Cage, Blade, Martian Manhunter - my pick? Let him play Martian Manhunter.

What has skin colour got to do with anything? It should be about acting ability, not whether the person is black or white.

Also, if you don't want a character's race to stay consistent with the source material, I'd respect it a lot more if you just stuck to your guns. All this "I don't want like 'race swapping' UNLESS it's a minor character" is so patronizing.

I don't get why you guys are so botbered by discussions on race - especially if it's civil. We can talk about and defend LGBT issues on here all day long, but, it's still taboo to talk about racial equality. Please...

I have been on this planet for over 3 decades and I have yet to hear or meet a problem that goes away by ignoring it. It's funny how ppl will turn a blind eye to comments about race, but, turn around and verbally harass the shit out of somebody when they don't share your opinion of a CBM. Lmao...

If people can rally to Ellen Page's coming out party (on a comic website)for 20 pages long on an article then surely we can support black man possibly being the titular superhero then that's bogus. Elba prob grew up like all of us wishig they could fly, have x-ray vision to look at girls naked lol and all that cool stuff!
