Ryan Reynolds Wins People's Choice Award For Favorite Movie Superhero

Green Lantern may have under performed at the box office, but it still looks like people love them some Ryan Reynolds after the actor took home the People's Choice Award for Favorite Movie Superhero.

The People's Choice Awards aired last night and Ryan Reynolds upset the masses to take home the Favorite Movie Superhero award. Reynolds defied the odds and won the award in a category that was stacked with Marvel Superheroes. The nominees also included Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, James McAvoy as Professor X, and Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique.

There has been some buzz that Warner Brother's is still planning on doing a sequel to Green Lantern despite its lackluster box office showing. Do you think with the character and Ryan Reynolds pulling in the People's Choice award that it will add fuel to that fire to give the franchise another shot? As usual leave your comments in the comment boxes below. To see a run down of all of last night's winners click HERE.

Wha...okay, as a Green Lantern fan I'm *a bit* glad for this, but really? McAvoy, Hemsworth, and Evans (he should've won it IMO, and oh, I'm a Cap fan, too) all gave a lot better performances.

Not surprising. People in general are idiots:)

Seriously though RR wasn't that bad in GL, at least he wasn't the main reason it sucked. But yeah, everyone else in that category deserved that award more.

I don't know why batmanrises got the boot.

In my professional opinion... he wasn't a troll.

It shouldn't count when trolls falsely report you. A bit of an over reach there, IMO.

Its a popularity contest and that's it. It's based on who has more appeal. Fassbender all the way! He will win an Oscar for something one day!

Green Lantern had so much potential. It still does. Ryan Reynolds was actually pretty decent as Hal. The script was terrible however but there was some epic moments. The oath was great. Abin Sur scene was also epic. I think a potential sequel can restore good faith and show the world the incredible mythos and character that is Green Lantern. I have no problem with Reynolds winning the title here. All superhero movies last year wasn't near the top as they should've been. X-Men First Class was beyond Thor, Cap and GL. Green Lantern should've been nr 1 however. It's a shame, really.

Forget this mindless selection, Hemsworth should have gotten it

Peoples Choice means in order for the PEOPLE to have an opinion PEOPLE have seen it to make a judgement, and given its performance MOST PEOPLE never saw it.

BUT maybe this will help the morons at WB give the sequel a chance with a better director, lower budget and DEFINITELY NEW WRITERS

and this is what happens when teeny bop girls vote on such matters. GL sucked and the acting - horrible. This gets ranked slightly higher than Clooney's batman in my opinion.
