After having a key supporting role in The Dark Knight Rises, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is the latest actor being considered to play Peter Quill/Star-Lord in Marvel Studios' Guardians Of The Galaxy. Read on for more details.
After his performance as John Blake in this summer's The Dark Knight Rises, rumors have suggested that Joseph Gordon-Levitt will reprise the role and don the Batsuit in Warner Bros.' Justice League movie, even after his reps reportedly denied it. However, it looks like the young actor might be going from DC to Marvel for his next CBM role, that of Peter Quill/Star-Lord in Guardians Of The Galaxy. According to Deadline, Gordon-Levitt is the latest addition to Marvel Studios' shortlist to take on the lead role in the James Gunn-directed space epic. While the site can't confirm that he has been formally offered the role, he's definitely in the mix. Joel Edgerton (Warrior), Lee Pace (The Hobbit), Eddie Redmayne (Les Miserables), Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire) and Jim Sturgess (Cloud Atlas) all signed test deals with Marvel, while Zachary Levi (Thor: The Dark World) and an unnamed actor were later connected to the role. Additionally, there has been interest in Garrett Hedlund (TRON: Legacy), James Marsden (X-Men) and Sullivan Stapleton (300: Rise Of An Empire).
Described as Marvel's next major franchise launch, Guardians Of The Galaxy is set to hit theaters August 1st, 2014. Do you want to see Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Star-Lord?
