Speaking with HitFix about his new drama series Halt and Catch Fire, actor Lee Pace declared his role as Ronan the Accuser in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy the "craziest [frick]ing thing" he's ever been a part of. "I'm really excited about this character," he said, after also mentioning how "wicked" the recent trailer looked. "I mean he's nuts. I mean I've never played anything like it and I've had such a good, it's one of those things where you don't know how to approach something like this. This is not Joe MacMillan (his character in Halt and Catch Fire). You can't think, 'Well, you know, this is my relationship with my father...' It's not that. There's none of that, you now, kind of 'This is how I would go about dealing with these problems.' It's a complete kind of act of imagination. But in the hands of James Gunn, I'm such a fan of his movies. So it's very much a creation of his and I found my self being like, "Alright, let's do it. You tell me what you're into here." Lastly, when asked if there was anything specific from Guardians of the Galaxy that he's excited to see on-screen, Lee Pace said it's none other than Vin Diesel's tree-like Groot. "Yeah, I'm really excited to see that character because we didn't get to work with him on-set. Both Groot and Rocket were never there," he joked, before calling them assholes. "Of course, I want to see how my spaceship turns out. I've seemed a little bit of the concept art and whatnot but, yeah. That movie is going to be really good." What do you think?

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand - with the galaxy’s fate in the balance. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is presented by Marvel Studios and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film opens August 1, 2014.

a little bit more from pace about guardians

HitFix: Just the last question, is there anything you're particularly excited to see how it looks on the screen in "Guardians"?

Lee Pace: Groot.

HitFix: OK. He's the thing you're most intrigued for?

Lee Pace: Yeah, I'm really excited to see that character because we didn't get to work with him on-set. Both Groot and Rocket were never there.

HitFix: Prima donnas.

Lee Pace: I know. Assholes. So we never got to see them. Of course, I want to see how my spaceship turns out. I've seemed a little bit of the concept art and whatnot but, yeah. That movie is going to be really good.

im actually liking what im hearing about gunns take on ronan...him being a Kree radical who makes a deal with thanos that in exchange for helping thanos get the orb...thanos will help ronan eradicate the Kree's ancient enemies The Xandarians and him having a religious bent to him ..thinking that strength is virtue and weakness is sin, very interesting..this i took from the character descriptions that were released a few weeks ago and i think gunn talked about him too

AT >>>>>> staypuffed

I have a feeling that the Skull ship/asteroid that Star Lord & company see in the trailer will be Thanos's ship, if not some kind of base he has. It reminds me of something he had in the Silver Surfer 3d cartoon that was out for just one season some years back.

also since ronan made a deal with thanos about helping to get the orb for him and in exchange, thanos will help eradicate the Xandarians and we see ronan attack xandar which i think will be the final battle of the film cause they all seem to be wearing the same outfit and i think that happens in the end...it seems then that ronan is successful in getting the orb for thanos but isnt unsccessfully in eradicating the xandarians due the guardians stopping him

@Hiro

Celestials are some of the strongest beings in the Marvel Universe. They are 2,000 feet tall and don't really have an origin. "Knowwhere" is a decapitated head of one that serves as a space station for many cosmic travelers as well as the Guardians Home base.
