It Came Down To Nebula Or Adam Warlock For GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 According To James Gunn

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2's director reveals that as he transitioned from treatment to script, he realized a character needed to be cut and it was going to be Nebula or Adam Warlock.

James Gunn has previously mentioned that Adam Warlock very nearly appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in a much more substantial role than an end credits stinger.  However, Gunn's latest comments show just how close Warlock's inclusion was and that it nearly came at the expense of some important sister bonding between Nebula and Gamora.

Said Gunn, "In the original treatment, even before it became a treatment, Adam Warlock was a major character.  And the screenplay was just too busy, there were too many characters.  I couldn’t do Nebula justice and Adam Warlock justice and have both in there so I decided to save Adam for another day."

If Warlock had appeared in lieu of Nebula, how do you think the film would have been changed?  What would Gamora's arc have been in the film and who among the Guardians would have made a connection with Adam? Share your theories in the usual space below.

Dammit. My least favorite scenes were with Nebula. Should've kept in Warlock

@SmokingMan - Indeed. I feel that removing her subplot completely would not affect the movie. A shame that we won't see Warlock in Infinity War.

@SmokingMan - Karen Gillian is still [frick]ing hot though ;)

@ElVengador - Totally, the movie would not have been affected. Oh, there's no denying she's freakin hot

@SmokingMan - are you kidding? Without they wouldn't have been able to do the...

Well without her they wouldn't have...

Shit...I forgot everything about that movie

@MitchConner - oh wait, I do remember James killed Yondu...should have killed her

And dudes, why are you saying she should be there because she's hot, I don't see that movie as one I go to see hot chicks. All three chicks have so much make up and costume on I can't see how hot they are, so I don't even pay attention...now Black Widow, Pepper Potts, and kind of Natalie Portman, they are worth it...or the chick from the first and second transformers, and the Deceptocon from Transformers 2, those would be chicks that make the film pop (at least for me)

Lol

That would have been interesting if Mantis and her role was replaced with Adam. Ego could have had the High Evolutionary's role to Adam in the MCU. Perhaps that could have worked.

Fine with Nebula's arc in GOTG2 and saving Warlock for the sequels.

I predict when everyone finally faces Thanos, Nebula is already dead and Thanos shows Gamora her disfigured corpse like in the comics.

@KIDCOM - I'm hoping this happens, because if it doesn't, then there was no point on having her in Vol. 2

i'm fine with Nebula. we need more women in the MCU as is, and space-Vision is not very appealing to me, personally.

Nebula is legit one of the most annoying characters with that lame ass Bale Batman voice.. her scenes were the worst in GOTGVOL2 and I could've gotten [frick]in Warlock already are you fr! He could've been in Infinity War goin against Thanos but instead I got her and that lame ass comedy
