Marvel Studios has officially released new character posters for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, putting the spotlight on each member of the superhero team.

Reminiscent of album covers from the '90s, these are among the best MCU posters we've seen for what will hopefully be a movie that puts the Multiverse Saga back on the right track. Of course, it's likely to help that this is expected to be a largely standalone tale without a single Kang in sight.

The movie's villains are conspicuous by their absence, though we're sure they'll be given the chance to shine at some point.

The one-month countdown until James Gunn's threequel is released in theaters has also begun, but thanks to King Charles' Coronation, those of you in the UK have less time to wait as the movie drops there on May 3.

Check out these new Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 character posters below.

In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, our beloved band of misfits are looking a bit different these days. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.

Gunn writes and directs Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, featuring Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Sean Gunn, Chukwudi Iwuji, Will Poulter, and Maria Bakalova.

Kevin Feige is the producer and Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Nikolas Korda, Simon Hatt, and Sara Smith serve as executive producers.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 arrives in theaters on May 5, 2023.

@TheyDont - I'm not excited to see it but I do want to see it.

And it will probably end up being the best comic book movie of the year.

I wonder if Jonathan Major gets recasted are we going to have another Edward Norton Incredible Hulk situation where Marvel tries to bury that film for a couple of years or do we get a Don Cheadle situation where no 1 notices or cares about the recast.

Hope it's a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy and a celebration of 15 years of the MCU.

I’m predicting it’ll be better than 2 but worse than 1.

@HulkisHoly - that would be my guess. this won't top 1, but Vol2 sucked so thats an easy win

I think vol 2 had a lot of good stuff in it, but I think it was missing the adventure aspect from the first by splitting the team up. I think the Ego stuff was lacking while Rocket and Yondu was fun to watch.

@HulkisHoly - I got it when it first came out, got the collector's edition, lot's of fun. I went back and played it again a couple of months ago when I found out the guy that made this game will be heading up the upcoming Iron Man game.

It’s definitely a well thought out game.

@HulkisHoly - yes it is. I loved that it was it's own thing, borrowed bits from the movie and from the comics. The story was fantastic, the villains were varied, I liked that you can fly and fight as the Milano.

Damn you're making me want to go back and play it again. Lol.

Horrible song choices for the trailer and I've not even bothered listening to the soundtrack. I'll just be dragging myself to go watch this movie or not watch it at all.

What 90’s album covers are these supposed to look like? They just look like mediocre posters to me…
