Earlier today, Marvel's Kevin Feige revealed to Collider that James Gunn has handed in the first draft of his script for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and that the movie was scheduled to begin shooting "early next year."

Since that interview went live, the writer/director has taken to Twitter to confirm that he has indeed completed the script with a photo of the cover page and the caption, "Every bit of my heart."

Despite suggestions from the likes of The Russos and Chris Pratt that GOTG Vol. 3 could be a prequel set before Avengers: Infinity War, Gunn recently confirmed that we will catch up with the team of intergalactic A-holes after "The Snap."

The director has also previously stated that the story will revolve around Gamora, but after the events of Infinity War, that obviously takes on a slightly different connotation.

At any rate, with the first draft completed, hopefully we'll begin to learn a little more about the plot soon.

If the story revolves around Quill dealing with the loss of Gamora, then I called this some time back!!

I know the Fantastic Four is always coined with the title "The First Family", but I feel as if in the MCU at least that the Guardians have evolved into that placement because of the family themes they deal with.

Just hoping it's an upgrade over Vol. 2. There's a lot I liked about the movie - the more introspective and reflective moments were great. Everything else...felt like Gunn was just hitting us over the head repeatedly telling us to laugh.

Fingers crossed!

I still don't trust Gunn. Vol 2 had some really questionable scenes. But then everything with Yondu was so good. I don't know.

I hope Stallone's Guardians have a presence in this.

The may never be a CBM with more heart than Spider-Man 2.

Maybe Raimi's Fantastic Four (only joking). (Kinda).

@TheManWithoutFear - Loved that movie at the time but I thing it’s pretty terrible bybtodays standards especially as a Spider-man movie
