Marvel Studios has released a new featurette for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 featuring writer/director James Gunn, MCU boss Kevin Feige, and the threequel's cast reflecting on the journey that brought them to this point.

There are some new snippets of footage from the movie, along with insights into what it's been like to bring these characters to life after so many people doubted the franchise's chances of success back in 2014. Many people argued that Guardians of the Galaxy would be "Marvel Studios' first flop" when it was announced, but it's instead become one of Marvel Studios' most successful properties.

We recently learned that this movie is likely to debut with an impressive $130 million at the North American box office, though that's a number which could quite easily rise as we get closer to that May 5 release date.

Check out this new Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 featurette in the player below.

In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, our beloved band of misfits are looking a bit different these days. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.

Gunn writes and directs Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, featuring Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Sean Gunn, Chukwudi Iwuji, Will Poulter, and Maria Bakalova.

Kevin Feige is the producer and Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Nikolas Korda, Simon Hatt, and Sara Smith serve as executive producers.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 arrives in theaters on May 5, 2023.

Every time I see "one last ride"....I can't take it seriously at all like all fast and furious movies because thats the tag line in every film.

Man, I honestly cannot find one [frick] to give about this movie. I don’t care what happens to a single one of these characters. Since endgame, it’s just not the same. The only Marvel movies I could even finish watching were Far from Home and Antman. The latter was horrible.

Surely this, THIS will be the redemption of Marvel. It HAS to be.

If this doesn't make over a billion, get good reviews (or at least not get overwhelmingly bad reviews) and become a general crowd pleaser then I there will be no denying it any longer. If this flops, then audiences (even the general mainstream audience) really have fallen out of love with superheroes.

Marvel (and the cbms in general) ain't dead until GOTG V3 flops.

@ObserverIO - If this movie underperforms (I’d say $700 million or less), it will show how disinterested audiences are with current Marvel. After this, the most likely next big hit is Deadpool 3.
