A new trailer for Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 should be with us fairly soon, but for now, we have a batch of character posters and a banner spotlighting everyone's favourite band of intergalactic A-holes.

The posters - which don't seem to have been officially released just yet - feature Star-Lord, Drax, Gamora, Nebula, Rocket, Mantis, Cosmo and Groot.

We're sure Kraglin has one knocking around somewhere, but it doesn't look like villains The High Evolutionary and Adam Warlock have been invited to this party.

"In Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 our beloved band of misfits are settling into life on Knowhere. But it isn’t long before their lives are upended by the echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past." "Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life—a mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them."

Gunn writes and directs Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, featuring Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Sean Gunn, Chukwudi Iwuji, Will Poulter, and Maria Bakalova. Kevin Feige is the producer and Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Nikolas Korda, Simon Hatt, and Sara Smith serve as executive producers.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 arrives in theaters on May 5, 2023.

Drax and Peter aren’t gonna make it out alive

@ProudPatriot76 - it's Drax and Rocket

@RegularPoochie - I feel like Rocket dying is too obvious. Like it’s a macguffin? Is that a thing? Maybe red herring? Anyway. It’s so heavily implied in the trailers that he’s gonna be upright when the credits roll

@ProudPatriot76 -
Drax is definitely dead, pretty sure we see him dead in the trailer.
Rocket is definitely dead, he is almost certainly the one Peter is screaming over in the trailer

I think the rest will live though.

The last Marvel movie on the docket I actually care about. Feels weird.

@MUTO123 - this will be like Logan for the MCU. Other Fox X Men movies came out after Logan, but for most audiences Logan was the ending of their interest in the series.

(Yes I am aware dweadpwool 2 happend 🤓)

@MUTO123 - Cool so you'll delete your account and avoid all future MCU news and not complain anymore, right? I hope y'all move on to something else so I don't have to see attention seeking negging in every MCU article. If y'all are over it all then please move on. That, or stfu

@DrReedRichards - imma sucker for that BnW esthetic. I still remember when Snyder debuted the Batsuit and mobile.

@TheVandalore -

In all seriousness though, Snyder had the best Batmobile design.

Too bad he chose to use it as a meat-grinder.

@DrReedRichards - lol hey, Bale murdered like half of Gothams police force with his tank, flipping and bombing squad cars like he was in GTA.

Eeehhh, not so much. Keaton more so, I think. Goons instead of cops, but still.

@DrReedRichards - in the videogame with the Batmobile, Batmans straight up merc'n bad guys all night long in that tank.

If you mean the one from Arkham Knight, yeah, that thing was a death machine. Rightfully criticised as tone-deaf and contradicting Batman's moral rules, if I'm being honest. It ws more of a tank than Nolan's tumbler.

No, I'm not calling the TDK a "Batmobile", it looks nothing like one.

@tylerzero - Replying to attention-starved folks like Caillou here is the same as petting a dog after it rolls in feces. You'll only encourage them, and feel dirty after.

How this movie does at the box office will tell us for sure whether or not the general audience has comic book fatigue.

@Th3Batman -

Comic book movie fatigue is 100% bullsh!t.

Bad comic book movies wear everyone out. Good & great ones will continue to draw the audiences in.

It is that simple.

@DocSpock - you’re not wrong but I think it’s a little complicated. Every project except NWH seems to have lost about 150-200 at the box office (if you imagine them being released before endgame - e.g quantumania would have made 700 a few years ago).

I also think adoption of new B,C,D level characters is where we’ll see the fatigue. Blue beetle might be a really strong film but people might just not want to give it a chance. Whereas the Batman’s, Spider-Man etc will always draw a crowd.

I think the next few years will be interesting.

@DocSpock - Well maybe people are just fatigued with all the bad CBMs released over the last few years.

Looking forward to at least base line enjoying this. The first is entertaining, the second felt like it was more confident, but I don't love these films. I did love the Christmas Special for Mantis💚

It will be nice to not loath an MCU outing for a change... been a while.

Do they have any predictions out for the box office of this movie so far?
