GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 Promo Art Puts Spotlight On The High Evolutionary And Gamora Variant

While we initially expected Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3's lead villain to be Adam Warlock, it's become clear in recent months that honour goes to The High Evolutionary.

Played by Peacemaker star Chukwudi Iwuji, Rocket's creator appears to have plans to create his own Counter-Earth, but when his tyrannical rule is challenged by the Guardians, he sets out to destroy them. Now, we can see more of this deadly big bad thanks to some newly released promo art.

It doesn't really reveal anything about The High Evolutionary we didn't already know, though we do appreciate seeing more of his costume for this long-awaited live-action debut.

The Gamora Variant who first appeared in Avengers: Endgame also gets the spotlight. Upon closer inspection of her costume, it's now apparent that she does indeed somehow end up in charge of the Ravagers during the course of this threequel.

Check out this new Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 material below.

In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, our beloved band of misfits are looking a bit different these days. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.

Gunn writes and directs Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, featuring Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Sean Gunn, Chukwudi Iwuji, Will Poulter, and Maria Bakalova.

Kevin Feige is the producer and Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Nikolas Korda, Simon Hatt, and Sara Smith serve as executive producers.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 arrives in theaters on May 5, 2023.

@mountainman - I honestly imagine High Evolutionary's face to look like Robot Bill and Ted's faces in Bogus Journey but that's just me.

It seems like Warlock is unrelated to The High Evolutionary and essentially a continuation of the story in GOTG2. I’m perfectly ok with that, but I sure hope he isn’t a one and done. It was certainly a miss not introducing him in the Infinity Saga (possibly in GOTG2 in the role he is occupying here) but the cosmic side of the MCU could certainly use more heavy hitters.

cautiously optimistic about this move only because of adam warlock. i didnt care for gotg2 and thought that what gunn did with ego was just stupid. wont go see this opening weekend, will wait for some reviews before i decide. I would rather not see a movie i will be disappointed with than see it and hate it.

Glad this seems to give plenty to do to all these characters, especially Mantis & Nebula. They're my two current faves.

I'm a bit confused as to why this variant of Gamora is so disgruntled when it's technically the same 2014 personality who was still plotting to kill and betray Thanos. But this time around she saw a version of Nebula who turned out to be good and saw how happy Nebula was. Why would this variant be so disgruntled and edgy knowing she got what she wanted but a lot faster? I get that she didn't establish "love and connection" until being with the Guardians but she still had a heart and soul and pitied innocent lives.

So GotG3...

Quill or Warlock finally rips the skin mask off of the High Evolutionary...

@DocSpock - Well, as I've always said, if it wasn't for Kang variants, there wouldn't be any.

I can't be the only one that sees this pic of Warlock and think he looks like a golden version of Vision....
