GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 TV Spot Sets The Stage For An Epic Battle Against The High Evolutionary

The Guardians of the Galaxy have faced many threats in the MCU, including Ronan the Accuser, Ego the Living Planet, and the Mad Titan Thanos.

However, in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the team will be pitted against a villain this TV spot compares to "God." The High Evolutionary is clearly a force to be reckoned with, and we even get to see him unleash his own powers at one point. We also learn that he wants to destroy Star-Lord and his fellow heroes because they have no place in his new world.

Conspicuous by his absence is Adam Warlock, though his role in this movie remains a mystery for the most part.

This threequel will mark James Gunn's MCU farewell before he takes charge of the new DCU. The filmmaker clearly intends to go out on a high, with this serving as his final Marvel Studios movie before helming DC Studios' Superman: Legacy

In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, our beloved band of misfits are looking a bit different these days. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.

Gunn writes and directs Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, featuring Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Sean Gunn, Chukwudi Iwuji, Will Poulter, and Maria Bakalova.

Kevin Feige is the producer and Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Nikolas Korda, Simon Hatt, and Sara Smith serve as executive producers.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 arrives in theaters on May 5, 2023.

I don’t understand why Marvel with these allegedly powerful and cool villains don’t set them up in the universe over several movies.
They did it with Thanos. The did it with Loki. They started to do it with Kang.
But then you have Ultron, The High Evolutionary, and others who are just one off villains and should be more interwoven in other stories as well.

@TyrantBossMedia - I also think like that at first but then I remember these aren't comics and screentime, contracts and storylines are all kinda limited.

In the comics almost all villains are there to be used all the time. If they were to keep doing that in the movies, as much as I'd like big stories with all those you mentioned, it would feel individual stories aren't moving forward really.

I don't know, I'm conflicted on this one cause I understand movies are totally different beasts despite thinking on the great repercussions every villain could have in the universe.

i will wait until this one is out and decide if its worth spending money at the theater to see it. Think I dodged a bullet by waiting to see Antman.

@BeNice123 - if there are any type of character they should keep those would be the CGI ones, you know.

@Fogs - yeah. I just would hate it if Rocket is being killed off. I would really hate that!

@BeNice123 - I thought that was the case but I feel like it’s a red herring. He will be prominent to the story so it does make sense for him to be up front.

I almost feel like Disney would mandate Gunn not kill the charcater off. He’s CGI so recasting is easy. He’s cute and unique. He could really go anywhere after the GOTG series wraps up.

Drax is 100% done here. I think Quill may be too just because Pratt may be too expensive to resign.

I just feel like studio will mandate Rocket and Groot stick around.

@mountainman - i would also agree with that. Im pretty sure maybe a spinoff could also be on the table for that matte, not to have him killed off. For some reason i hust have that feeling he might be. We will have to see my friend. 👍🏽

High evolutionary looks like a total space dork.

I really liked Chukwudi Iwuji in Peacemaker. He seems to have the right persona for the High Evolutionary, but I hate the human face look. If that mask doesn’t come off during the movie to show a more comic accurate mask underneath, it will be a huge miss.

@mountainman - “It’s a face off”

What will Evolutionary look like with his "face" of? Will it be a reverse? Silver "mask" beneath? We will find out based on this tv-spot.
