Following the glowing first social media reactions to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Marvel Studios has released another TV spot featuring a few new shots from James Gunn's trilogy-capper.
Quite a lot of the promo is made up of footage from the most recent trailer, but we do get a new look at Gamora coming in for a crash-landing, Rocket in action, and more.
Spoilers follow.
Though no major spoilers have found their way online since the movie's Disneyland screening over the weekend, a few tidbits of info have been shared, and insider MyTimeTo-ShineHello has now revealed that Phyla-Vell, daughter of Mar-Vell and sister of Genis-Vell, will appear.
The character is reportedly played by actress Kai Zen (Feel the Beat, American Housewife), who is 15-years-old, so it looks like we'll be introduced to the powerful hero as a teenager, possibly laying the groundwork for her to join a future incarnation of the team.
"In Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 our beloved band of misfits are settling into life on Knowhere. But it isn’t long before their lives are upended by the echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past." "Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life—a mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them."
Gunn writes and directs Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, featuring Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Sean Gunn, Chukwudi Iwuji, Will Poulter, and Maria Bakalova. Kevin Feige is the producer and Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Nikolas Korda, Simon Hatt, and Sara Smith serve as executive producers.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 arrives in theaters on May 5, 2023.
