Over the weekend, the rather shocking news that Marvel Studios had rehired James Gunn to direct the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie sent the internet into a tizzy.

Gunn was fired from the project last year after some offensive Tweets of his resurfaced, and we had been led to believe that Disney had zero intention of reinstating him. Evidently, this wasn't the case.

Though the decision to give Gunn another shot after his controversial jokes didn't sit well with everyone, some of his fellow MCU filmmakers were clearly in favor and have since come out to show their support via Twitter.
