New GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Vol. 2 Storyboard Sketch Features Pom Klementieff's 'Mantis'

Director James Gunn has shared a new #WhatWeShotWednesday pic, and it gives us a (very) rough idea of how the Mantis character will look in GOTG Vol. 2. Take a look, but don't get too excited!...

It seems James Gunn was shooting a scene today involving the intergalactic a-holes' newest recruit, Mantis (Pom Klementieff). The director posted the sketch below to his Twitter page earlier on, and as you can see it places the heroic character right in the midst of some trembling.

Okay, so it's not exactly a detailed depiction - but it does confirm that Mantis will have her insect-like antennae from the comics, at least. Keep an eye out for some more Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 tidbits and shooting continues on the Marvel sequel.

Set to the all-new sonic backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is produced by Marvel Studios’ president, Kevin Feige, with Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Jonathan Schwartz, Nik Korda and Stan Lee serving as executive producers.

The Marvel sequel is set to hit theaters on May 5, 2017.
