2020 Marvel Studios Movie Is Now Undated; Disney Pits THE JUNGLE CRUISE Against Untitled DC Comics Movie

It appears as if Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is now undated as Marvel Studios has removed one of its 2020 releases from the calendar. Disney, however, has also made a bold move against Warner Bros.

Up until today, Marvel Studios had three movies set for release in 2020. While we don't know what those are/were going to be, they were set for release on May 1st, July 31st, and  November 6th. Unfortunately, it's now been confirmed that the July 31st movie - which was quite possibly Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 - has been removed from Disney's schedule.

Whether or not this means we're only getting two Marvel Cinematic Universe movies in 2020 is hard to say but this is bound to get fans talking and it could be a sign that with Vol. 3 delayed, the studio simply can't get anything else made in time.

In other release date news, The Jungle Cruise (which stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Emily Blunt) has now been delayed from October 11th, 2019 to July 24th, 2020. That puts it head to head with an Untitled DC Film and Untitled Sony Animation. It remains to be seen whether or not either of them will end up being moved.

As always, release dates are fluid and always subject to change but we'll be sure to keep you updated when we have more to tell you. Will you be able to cope with only two Marvel Studios movies in 2020?

I could of sworn I said that after A4 it might drop down to two movies...

@AyMan - This is likely ONLY for 2020 because of the Gunn situation.

Especially with X-Men and F4, there will be a guaranteed THREE MCU films every year going forward. Potentially more if you consider ongoing Deadpool flicks.

@PsychoticSpaceRaccoon - When I stated this, it was in response to how the ending will affect the MCU as a whole, I stated that it would be harrowing that it drops down to one or two to give in more to the idea that it was more of a "closed chapter" once A4 ends. Not because "they don't make money" but just because it adds a lot of mystique to the franchise and where it could go.

@AyMan - Doesn’t make much sense, since the next Spider-Man film is released a few months after A4. Which we will see the aftermath of A4 and the beginning of Phase 4

@JoJo1982 - Yeah but it doesn't add anything to the universe as a whole. While the ramifications will surely be felt with Spider-Man, he has his own adventure going on as well that is going to be 70-80% of the movie most likely.

@AyMan - add to what? What movie should add to the universe as a whole?

Spidey is still a part of the MCU and we even have Nick Fury and Maria Hill joining him in the continuous of the MCU

Black Widow will obviously be one of the 2020 films. I bet the other one will be Doctor Strange 2. I thought with The Eternals moving fast it would be ready to shoot sometime next year for a 2020 release, but I guess that's not the case.

Eh, most Marvel films are 800lb gorillas at this point. They don’t need to worry about staking out a date years in advance... they can just politely inform people that now they’ll be opening on *this* date, and if you already had your film opening that weekend then perhaps you’d like to move it...

@Chewtoy - I'm pretty sure if my unborn grandchildren even thought about opening a film the first week of May sometime in the early 22nd century, Kevin Feige would look up from his desk for a brief moment, stare into the distance, and then offer a polite chuckle.

I still see Marvel announcing a big change up starting in 2020

Black Widow will be released in March 2020 the same date Fox/Marvel had

So many ? for the MCU after Avengers 4

I love how Josh always tries to drag DC or Disney/Marvel into some sort on his articles. Like the Venom going to pass JL total....when clearly it is not needed.

Now Jungle Cruise is going up against some unknown DC movie.

@PsychoticSpaceRaccoon - Seems to me he is trying to incite flame wars or get reactions out of DC or Disney Fanboys.

@JoeMomma29 - Don't get me wrong I agree that Josh is a flame baiting SOB. But we have been comparing these films' box office numbers for YEARS. The comparison is relevant because it gives you an idea of how strong a property is or isn't at this current point in time.

But still...

FREAK JOSH!!!

@JoeMomma29 - Yes, he's one of the worst writers in this area/field, using cheap tricks, exaggerations, and even lies as bait to get more bites, many times resulting in page after page of fans arguing and insulting each other, which brings on even more pages of click-bait.

I guess it works for the website, because despite getting more complaints than any writers of any of these sites I go to, nothing is done about it.
