GOTG VOL. 3: Sylvester Stallone Suits-Up As Starhawk For New Behind-The-Scenes Photo

Sylvester Stallone had a small, but memorable role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 as Stakar Ogord/Starhawk, before returning right at the end of the movie with some of the other original Guardians.

Fans have been wondering if we'd ever see any of these characters again in the MCU, and Stallone recently took to Instagram to confirm that he will indeed reprise the role for the currently shooting GOTG Vol. 3. Now, the legendary Rocky star has followed-up with a behind-the-scenes photo of himself in-costume as Starhawk.

The outfit appears to be quite similar to the one Stallone donned in the previous movie, with a few minor upgrades.

It remains to be seen if Michael Rosenbaum (Martinex), Michelle Yeoh (Aleta Ogord), Ving Rhames (Charlie-27), and Miley Cyrus (Mainframe) will be joining him in the MCU threequel, but it would seem like a massive waste not to bring the entire team back.

James Gunn will once again direct, with Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Dave Bautista (Drax), Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Sean Gunn (Rocket/Kraglin), Karen Gillan (Nebula) set to return. Will Poulter will play Adam Warlock, and Peacemaker actor Chukwudi Iwuji is also on board in an undisclosed role.

Story details are still under wraps, but we do know that Gamora will be a big part of the movie, and it sounds like her relationship with Nebula is going to be the main focus.

We're sure the filmmaker will share more details soon, but for now, all we know for certain is that the core team will return for more intergalactic adventures, and there's a pretty good chance not all of 'em will make it to the end credits!

I can guarantee he’ll have a larger role in the threequel, especially since him and Gunn seem to get on.

Why is he orange? Is he made of red clay.

Effing Stallone in the MCU and this one is not just a cameo. Ridley Scott can bitch all he wants but these movies are both entertaining and successful and lots of big names want to be involved. Heck, Anthony Hopkins and Robert Redford fer chrissakes.

@Goldboink - Ridley named a few of his movies and called them superhero movies, theyre not. They are what they are, they’re not what they’re not.

Goldboink - 11/15/2021, 11:18 AM
@TheWalkingCuban - These movies are all about the hero's journey to some degree. Do you have to have superpowers to be a superhero? Certainly not when you look at Batman and Hawkeye and countless others. Are Ripley or Maximus or Deckard truly superheros? Not by the book they aren't but they are heroes.

TheWalkingCuban - 11/15/2021, 11:24 AM
@Goldboink - heroes yes. Heroes are when we can do it if we’re brave enough. Superheroes are when it don’t matter how brave we are, we need that rich guy or that spider guy etc to do it.

@BlackBeltJones - I know it's a coincidence but the original character is kinda orange in the comics:

I'm actually really excited to see Nebula in this movie. I love that she was as big a part of Endgame as she was.

@MosquitoFarmer - she had a fantastic arc. When winter soldier and guardians came out I thought, cool, Crossbones and Nebula Gon stick around. She did at least… BUT, I’d rather what happened with Crossbones, than what happened with Batroc. Great fight in the skies against Falcon but super super lame death. Crossbones really stuck it to the avengers, albeit by accident and uh by his death lol

@bobevanz - aw man I gotta disagree, between seashells and Snipes goin ham with blond hair and overalls with guns in a future with no guns and gettin froze and head kicked off etc rat, watch, Leary, spray paint, Bullock, styrofoam, Jesse Ventura, I’m sorry I can’t. Now True Lies trumps DM, but Cliffhanger, yes I said it Cliffhanger. But then you got total recall, and we’re starting to get to Rocky, Predator, Commando, Rambo, Terminator territory, but let’s back up…

Cobra? Or Raw Deal?

Since Vol. 3 is going to be the end of the trilogy story/arcs and the last one that Gunn does for a while, if ever again (according to him) I'm going to guess that Sly will take over on Vol. 4.

After TSS, can’t wait. Let’s hope Gunn has full creative control on this one and it isn’t needless set up for the next cosmic Avengers film or something

HeavyMetal4Life - 11/15/2021, 10:38 AM
@McMurdo - so, a continuation of the type of creative control he has previously had under Marvel...

@HeavyMetal4Life - sure if you call having to force a big purple alien 👾 into your first movie creative control, then I guess that would fit your definition.

HeavyMetal4Life - 11/15/2021, 10:59 AM
@McMurdo - well then, I guess its not important that Gamora and Nebula have a particular father figure, or Ronan is working for a particular someone.
