GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 Looks Set To Introduce A Very Unexpected Comic Book Location

The prevailing theory is that Chukwudi Iwuji will play The High Evolutionary in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and many of you may already know that the villain is Rocket Racoon's creator.

Recently, set photos have taken us to a planet inhabited by humanoid animals, leaving fans to wonder if they might be the next stage in The High Evolutionary's experiments after giving life to Rocket. Now, though, The Cosmic Circus has done some digging and the site believes these scenes take place on Counter-Earth. That planet was created by the villain and filled with "New Men."

In the comics, they have similar animalistic appearances, and Counter-Earth, meant as a purer version of the original, has no superheroes on it. Adam Warlock has ties to the planet, while The High Evolutionary has frequently plotted to try and merge the real Earth with his twisted replica.

Needless to say, it's pretty easy to see how this will factor into Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and would explain why Star-Lord returns to "Earth" after quickly leaving the planet in Avengers: Endgame.

With just under a year until the movie is released, we're not expecting a trailer to be released quite yet.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 arrives in theaters on May 5, 2023.
