HELLBOY: The David Harbour-Led Reboot Is Now Available On 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray & DVD

Lionsgate Home Entertainment has officially released Neil Marshall's Hellboy on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD today. It was also made available on Digital HD earlier this month.

The 4K Ultra HD disc provides stunning visuals in 2160p and exceptional audio, which should make for a pleasant watch for fans of the film. There are also a number of exclusive editions currently available from Best Buy (Steelbook), Target (Steelbook) and Wal-Mart (Digial Graphic Novel).

As for special features, there's a pretty extensive three-part featurette that runs a little over an hour and takes fans behind the making of the movie with behind-the-scenes footage and new interviews with the cast and crew as well as creator Mike Mignola. There are also about eight minutes of deleted scenes and a seven-minute Previsualization featurette that shows off some of the visual effects.

The superhero film, which starred Golden Globe-nominee David Harbour (Black Widow) in the title role, was one of this year's biggest disappointments, both critically and commercially, as it currently boasts a measly 18% on review aggregator RottenTomatoes and only managed to gross $40.8 million worldwide on an estimated $50 million production budget, which means a sequel is probably off the table.

While the prior two Guillermo del Toro-directed Hellboy films, which starred Ron Perlman in the lead role, weren't exactly box office juggernauts either, both were received considerably more favorably by critics and audiences alike and were able to find second lives on home video and television.

I'm not a Hellboy aficionado, but enjoyed the previous 2 movies. For those who have seen this, is it as bad as the trailer made it out to be, or should I give this a go?

@Philvis - its really bad, but watch it anyways. Maybe you'll come out thinking differently.

@Philvis - I thought it was a fun watch, but it's a huge mess. A fun mess, but the editing and CGI is horrible and they might take out the fun that's left in there. I watched it with very low expectations, though.

I was going to link the infamous goal scene, but the whole clip on YouTube is kinda spoilery, so I deleted that.

Thanks, I'm a glutton for punishment (not Trank F4 level), so I'll give it a whirl! I don't want Harbour to not have food on the table.

After Stranger Things 3 reminded me how good Harbour is, this movie was even more tragic.

We need a standardized grading format for how bad a CBM may be. Something to convey, in one word, the level of suckiness.
Something along the lines of:

Catwoman (really really bad)
Justice League (what the hell were they thinking)
F4 (they should pay me to watch it)
Green Lantern (what the hell was I thinking)
Iron Man 3 (it may have had some redeeming qualities but it fell flat)

I know there's more out there

@lawndart - I think you need to add Thor Dark World (God Help Us) and Captain Marvel (kill me now).
