The Blair Witch Project that premiered in 1999 did a lot to change the Horror genre. Introducing found footage as an aspect of creating realism to the environment & viral marketing campaign that had all of us doped into believing, even if for a second, "oh crap is this real?"

And now with the marketing twist that this film is not a generic found footage horror film entitled "The Woods" but in fact a remake/sequel of a beloved Cult Film, Directed By Adam Wingard a man responsible for The Guest & You're Next. How could this of possibly gone wrong, well find out below!

I really wanted to hate your review. I bought into the early hype and I'm wanting to be shocked and shaken up by a groundbreaking horror film. That said, I can't argue with your criticisms. The same things you mentioned are things I strongly dislike in found footage films and it pains me to hear that this film, which I was expecting to be unique, ends up being cliche.
Good job with the review. I'm still going to see it but my hype bubble has definitely burst.

Two quick questions: One, I heard the last 20 minutes were really intense. Is that true?
Two, I heard that there's a twist. Is that true?

@Marxman12 - Hey I Appreciate The Honest Man! Look I Was Hoping To Love This Film & If Not Like It Enough To Go On The Top 10 Horror Films For 2016.
Sorry To Burst The Bubble Man, But After You Watch It Come Back & Let Me Know What You Think... It's An Ok Watch But It's Not Impressive In Anyway
& Yeah The Last 20 Minutes Get Intense Like Much Like The First One But On Steriods!
And No Not Really Any Twist It's Pretty Straight Foward... They Try & Give You A Reason In The Movie For Why Everything Happens But Any Real Fan Knows That's Not True

Thanks Again For The Support Man!

@CrisParker - I saw it last night and you were right. Too much shaky camera work and found-footage clichés. I actually enjoyed the first 15+ minutes (the setup) more than the horror portions of the film. The setup just had better structure and pacing. That's bad news for a horror film. Once the horror happens it's like Wingard lost control of his movie.
