Paul Feig Releases A Spooky New GHOSTBUSTERS Poster To Celebrate The Film's Opening

We've seen several posters for Paul Feig's Ghostbusters reboot over the past couple of weeks, but this latest one is almost definitely the best one. The film is out in theaters everywhere now!

To commemorate the film's solid opening weekend, where it grossed over $65.1 million worldwide ($46 million domestic, $19.1 million foreign), director Paul Feig has released a spooky cool new poster for his Ghostbusters reboot featuring the four leads, played by Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon, suited up and ready to bust some trouble-making ghosts. With an estimated budget of $144 million and a rumored marketing budget of nearly $100 million, it'll be an uphill battle to reach profitability, but luckily for them, the film has yet to open in at least thirty-four different international markets, so it should be quite a while before we can determine how well it actually performed.

It's biggest competition will come in the next three weeks with the arrival of Star Trek Beyond, Jason Bourne, and Suicide Squad. However, considering that those three films are, for the most part, catered to three very different audiences, which tend to skew male, there's a golden opportunity for the film to fly under the radar for the rest of the summer and rake in a good chunk of the worldwide box office.
Also, if the positive word-of-mouth continues to spread, the film could certainly develop some legs and perform steadily throughout August & September. Anyways, check out the new poster below:

Erin Gilbert (Wiig) and Abby Yates (McCarthy) are a pair of unheralded authors who write a book positing that ghosts are real. A few years later Gilbert lands a prestigious teaching position at Columbia University, but her book resurfaces and she is laughed out of academia. Gilbert reunites with Yates and others when ghosts invade Manhattan and she and her team have to save the world.

Ghostbusters (2016) features:
