Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has returned to his horror roots in The Belko Experiment. The film, which Gunn wrote and produced, centers on a large group of office workers who are going about an ordinary work day, when a mysterious voice suddenly commands them to start killing each other, or they will be killed themselves. A bloody and violent massacre ensues.

The film stars some of Gunn's frequent collaborators, including Michael Rooker and brother Sean Gunn, along with John Gallagher Jr., Tony Goldwyn, Adria Arjona, John C. McGinley, Melonie Diaz, and David Dastmalchian. Check the trailer out below!

The Belko Experiment hits theatres on March 17, 2017.

It at first seems to be an ordinary morning on the job for a group of Americans working for a not-for-profit in a modern office building in Colombia. After noticing that their Colombian colleagues have not arrived for work, office worker Mike (John Gallagher, Jr.) spots some unfamiliar security guards entering a large hangar nearby. Moments later, an icy voice comes over the building’s PA system and calmly explains that the employees must kill a certain number of their co-workers — if not, they will be killed themselves. While the boss (Tony Goldwyn) tries to calm the troops, Mike belatedly realizes that something truly sinister is going on — and when metal doors come sliding down on all the building’s exits and windows, it becomes clear that friends and colleagues are now suddenly enemies in a bloody and brutal battle to the death.

Seen it a million times, I like interesting concepts like this but it doesn't look like it brings anything new to the table. The Circle was very similar. Choose one person to kill every two minutes or they'll choose for you.

I wouldn't mind watching it but probably not in the theater.

If it has Gunn humor, it could be good but the trailer was kinda depressing. I know it's "horror" but I expected something a bit funner from James.

Doesn't look bad. Sort of reminds me of "The Purge."

@SuperCat - I does seem like a mash up of several ideas, but in the end, i think most ideas are. I am hoping Mr. Gun has some interesting plot twist.

I know the concept isn't new, but James Gunn writes really interesting films and I look forward to this.

i dont know anything about The Purge but this is Battle Royale with white people in an office building instead of japanese children on an island.

@csdot - This, i hate when i see these types of movies referred to as "hunger games" movies. Battle Royale from 2000 or Death Race 2000 from 1975. You could argue that DR2k was a car movie, but battle royale was one of the first i saw to pit human vs human for "sport/entertainment"

@Gizmoduck - I don't know why everyone thinks Battle Royale was for "sport/entertainment" it definitely was not.

The lead was solid in Last House on the Left.

Looks like a no balls rip-off of Battle Royal.

Do ppl really think Hunger Games and Battle Royale started this sub-genre? I know I'm not that old but seriously The Running Man and The original Death Race, made killing for entertainment popular.
