Seemingly not content with Transformers and TMNT, Bay might be taking control of another iconic character, albeit a slightly more adult orientated one. We recently found out that Dimension Films' Halloween 3D wasn't going to happen. That planned follow up to Rob Zombie's previous two flicks was taken off their schedule and has been in the ""release date to be determined" drawer since. But now Bloody Disgusting report that Platinum Dunes - Michael Bays' production company responsible for bringing (inflicting on) us other horror reboot such as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Amityville Horror, Friday the 13th and A Nightmare On Elm Street - may take over production..
Bloody Disgusting can exclusively report that Platinum Dunes is in talks to take the producing reigns on Dimension Films' forthcoming Halloween sequel.
Word has it that Michael Myers' return will not be in 3-D, nor will it instill the popular found footage model, which was originally being explored for the potential Friday the 13th sequel.
Apparently new writers and directors are being sought, which means that the writing duo attached to the last incarnation, Todd Farmer and Patrick Lussier, are most likely no longer involved. I guess any follow up or spin off can't be as bad as Zombie's last effort. Can it? Would you guys prefer a continuation of that story or yet another rebooting of Michael Myers? Or, like me, were you hoping the big lug would have just been allowed to rest in peace?
