THE EXORCIST: BELIEVER - First Production Still For David Gordon Green's Horror Sequel Released

Still no sign of a trailer, but Blumhouse has released a first-look at David Gordon Green's The Exorcist: Believer via a behind-the-scenes production still...

"What an excellent day for an exorcism..."

The first teaser trailer for David Dordon Green's The Exorcist: Believer screened during Universal's CinemaCon panel back in April, and while the footage has yet to be released online (and likely won't be), we do have a first official look at the horror sequel via a production still.

The image features Green and what appears to be some sort of occult symbol etched into the floor. Is this how Pazuzu (or some other demon) manages to return?

Check out the still below along with a BTS video, and keep an eye out for a teaser trailer, which should be with us fairly soon.

Leslie Odom Jr. plays the father of a young girl who goes missing in the woods with a friend. When both children wind up being possessed, he calls in Chris MacNeil (Ellen Burstyn) for help.

The movie also stars Ann Dowd, Lidya Jewett, Raphael Sbarge, Jennifer Nettles and Olivia Marcum. A recent report claimed that Linda Blair would also reprise the role of Regan MacNeil, but that's yet to be confirmed.

Widely considered one of the scariest movies ever made, William Friedkin's The Exorcist focused on a possessed young girl (Blair) and her mother's (Burstyn) attempts to free her from the grip of the demon with the help of two priests (Jason Miller and Max Von Sydow).

Of course, the movie already has two sequels. The first, John Boorman's surreal The Heretic, was critically panned and actually had very little to do with the events of the first film. However, William Peter Blatty's The Exorcist III (based on his novel Legion) was a lot better, and served as a more direct follow-up to the 1973 classic.

I'll only see this if it gets great reviews. The last 2 Halloween movies were so bad

Huge fan of the original, so I might watch when it comes to whatever streaming service.

I never really got into this. In high school, everyone I knew loved the Exorcist.

Including my girlfriend, which meant I saw this dumb thing 4-5 times at the drive-in.

Little Spock kept reminding me it was only logical.
