I was never a huge fan of the originals. But, you're absolutely right. It was, "meh." Especially considering the amount of time they've had, and hype it had.

8 out of 10 is a pretty good score for a "meh" movie. I agree with this for the most part but it was refreshing to see an actual attempt at a horror movie and not another Saw sequel or rip off. Englund is Freddy encarniate, no doubt, but Nightmare on Elm movies have never truely scared me. Freddy has always had a clumsy way about him and hilarious catch phrases. There are high school kids that love everything new (even when it is crap) and us 25 plus dudes who are true to the old school.
