In the comic books, Wolverine is introduced as a Superhuman agent of the Canadian government who clashed with The Hulk while hunting down the Wendigo. Later, he would go on to join the X-Men and become one of the most popular characters in the Marvel Universe, and he, along with the rest of those mutant characters, is now on the way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
We're not entirely sure when that debut will happen, but it sounds like Mark Ruffalo remains optimistic that his version of the Green Goliath will get the chance to face off with the clawed mutant.
During a recent Variety profile, the Avengers: Endgame star pondered the future of The Hulk, and after previously confirming that it's likely we'll see the character in She-Hulk on Disney+, he added: "Maybe Hulk and Wolverine could hook up." It's a brief statement, but one we've heard the actor make before, and he's clearly anxious to make this no doubt epic team-up happen.
You have to believe Marvel Studios has big plans for Wolverine, especially as he's a character who can star in both the X-Men franchise and one of his own. Fox had mixed fortunes with the latter, but with the right creative team working on it, another solo movie could be a hit in the MCU.
If it just happens to co-star The Hulk, then that would be even better...
