According to a few interesting pieces of information in a recent Entertainment Weekly article, work isnt as far along on the show as previously thought, but Jeph Loeb is keen on hiring the Lost and Star Trek scribe...

By now, you'll have all heard the rumours that Marvel are keen on developing a TV series featuring the Green Goliath. Well, in a recent article over at E! Online, the site have dropped a fair few interesting bits of info and you can check out some of the most intriguing below!

" Insiders caution to EW that any speculation about the return of the big green man is premature, though interest from ABC is apparently there."

"But for right now, there is no script and certainly no modern-day Bill Bixby to assume the high-profile role (even though some talent agencies believe Marvel already has its Hulk)."

"EW has been told that Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb is on the lookout for a genre scribe who can reboot the franchise for today’s TV audiences."

"Rumor has it that Damon Lindelof (Lost) is among the writers on his wish list, though the Hollywood Reporter said Battlestar Galactica producer David Eick was also looking to pitch a take."

It's worth noting that Lindelof has a history with the Hulk - he previously write the critically acclaimed (but terribly delayed) Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk comic book series. What do you think about him helming this potential TV show? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!

I love that the Hulk is getting more attention, but how on earth do they expect to do Hulk justice with a TV budget? I have a feeling this is gonna bomb. I hope not, but, the Hulk needs more MOVIES not a TV series. He's one of Marvel's flagship character's for God's sake!

I don't understand how they're going to create a Hulk tv series. You need CGI to do him justice.

Damon Lindeloff makes sense. It's an ABC series, Lindeloff has just come off a successful run on Lost and Loeb also worked on Lost.

This show is really dependent upon how much money they're willing to sink into it.Fox has gone on record as stating that they're willing to put money into Terra Nova if it means creating a quality hit series. They're going to be creating CGI dinosaurs each week.I hear they're actually going over budget for the pilot because the FX are so good and they're paying their writers feature film salaries.

Let's hope ABC will go the extra mile.I can't imagine they would even attempt this if they didn't think they could pull it off.

They couldnt pick anyone better than Damon Lindelof, but I still struggle to imagine how they could present a decent looking CGI Hulk on a weekly basis on TV. I mean, a show about Bruce Banner without the Hulk would be shit in all honesty! I guess it'll all come down to how much they're willing to spend, but I think Marvel could (and should) be prioritising other characters who are easier to bring to the small screen. :)

This has the possibility to be really good. If any of you guys have read the run that he did for Ultimate Wolverine vs Ultimate Hulk. It was surprisingly well written. I think this serious has something here if he's on board.

If anything should be made for a TV series right now it would have to be the RUNAWAYS! I really don't want it to be a feature film

I enjoyed Bruce Jones' run on the Hulk quite a bit and the Hulk was used sparingly. I imagine a TV series would be done along those lines to keep the CGI looking good and the price down.

If they can pull off a TV series, then by all mean go for it. Just as long as it's in continuity.

Hello all. Just decided to join , have been a visitor for ages now. Really good site. This show has real potential and if they can get it right I think it will be excellent. In relation to cgi , here in the uk we have doctor who that uses cgi in it's episodes. I'm not sure but I think there is a £1miilion budget for each episode and if the BBC can get it done for that I'm sure marvel can get it right , but please don't use cgi to overkill like George Lucas has done with star wars.

If they are going to make a series, they better not tie it into the Marvel Movie Universe. Because
1.) It's gonna [frick] up the whole flow of the movies, I mean why create a series when you can create full length, proper CGI filled movies with depth and deep stories and character? We need to see more Hulk on the Silverscreen!!!
2.) There are a lot of new TV series' that are gonna be broadcasted over the years, so who's gonna be bothered to see this? I mean if you miss the classic Bill Bixby series then you are going to watch this but I want a movie man a movie!!! If I miss one episode that has a key element tieng into the movie universe and I never get to see that episode again, that'll be like missing a movie and that I will never get to see again ever!!!
SO BASCICALLY ALL I WANT IS MORE MOVIES!!! WHO'S WITH ME???

I was a huge fan of the original T.V. series when I was kid. So I like the idea of making it a regular series again. Especially since they can't seem to have any continuity with the movies. But If they make this show I think they should cast actor Tim Daly from private Practice seriously that dude looks just like Bill Bixby.

Hulk bombed twice in the movies and was successful once on TV so anyone hoping to see another Hulk movie with him as the star needs to give up that dream because it will never happen.

If the show airs on ABC Family Chanel which I read then budget for CGI shouldn't be a issue because a cable TV show would do less episodes then a network show would do.

@suzanne- Actually Kevin Fiege said that TIH met thier expectations and that they would go ahead with a sequel after the Avengers, Ruffalo has also said that he is signed on for Hulk sequels. And Tim Blake Nelson is eager to return for the Leader. The reviews were vastly positive on that movie, and bomb or not, (which it wasn't BTW) it was recieved well.

with a hulk tv show u can delve into more issues and story than just a 2 hour movie plus a tv show if successful would make the next hulk movie more successfull cause it will have a bigger following than just us comic fans when the tv show was on it was the biggest budget at the time even more so than buck rogers
