@iron2jason how isn't this news? it's all about how jon favreau isn't returning as director in iron man 3, if that's news on the main page why wouldn't it be here as well?

@boredsox78 I have decided to let this stay up even though it is old news but have moved it to editorials and changed the title to something more suitable. Editorials is a section for users to post their opinions.

@xenix I never said he'll appear first in Iron Man 3. I'm quite aware Avengers comes out before the third installment, I just loved Favreau as director. But seriously, why would he leave Marvel when he proclaimed his love for the Iron Man franchise?

Xenix @ Interesing point dude. Never thought of it that way BUT you are completely right.

This is all about the studio being more powerful than the artists. It's almost old school with the big studio system of the golden age of cinema. The important difference is between Marvel Studios and the old system is that Marvel want to create this cinematic universe. And instead of contracts being king its the cache these characters hold.

Directors, actors and other staff can come and go as long as they stay true to the canon of the movie universe. It will be interesting when Marvel make their first real turkey that is still linked to this universe. Will they pretend that film never happened? Reboot that character?? Or just chop and change the cast and crew and carry on??

@Xenix dude you just did a mini editorial on here but i agree with a 100% wish people had common sense
@earzmundo iron man already has a good cast it just need a good story

and yes favreau bought iron man to life but he's only one part of it, there are great directors out there, knowing marvel they will go with some one that is unproven, some one that can make the iron man franchise there own, oh boredsod ed norton might have been great but the guy had fricking ego, a ego which could defeat the hulk, the amount of problems the guy had with marvel was ridiculous, would want an avengers movie that fell apart because of the stars, and like i said favreau was not the only thing that made iron man he's just one part of it

favreau and downey were both big risks yet marvel gave them the chance with there properties and they delivered, its like nolan the guy dosent want to go on making batman movies for the rest of his life does he

@xenix well said man. I can't really argue with you because we each have different opinions, but I do respect yours very highly. I just loved Jon Favreau as a director, but who knows maybe someone COULD make the franchise even better.
@earzmundo I thought whedon as well, but wasn't too sure. affleck...ehhh Idk about that
@orphix i really really hope that doesn't happen bro. That would be an absolute shame, but so far...the film industry is enjoying reboots in recent years so who knows what'll happen?
@ibz another well said comment. very true with your nolan point, however I disagree with Ed Norton. Ed Norton brought together a more powerful script to Marvel and because Marvel Studios wanted to cut out what Edward helped bring (the deleted scenes of the film where full of them) they had issues. I feel Marvel disrespected Ed Norton when he made the character of Bruce Banner so much better (in my opinion that is of course. I still respect yours)
