There's no doubting that Iron Man 3 has been a hit at the box office and the majority of critics certainly seem to have liked it. However, some comic book fans have been unable to forgive Shane Black and Drew Pearce for that big twist with The Mandarin. Others embraced it and accepted it for what it was, but there's no denying that this had led to the threequel becoming one of the most divisive movies to ever have been covered here on CBM. Well, now that Iron Man 3 if FINALLY out across almost the entire world, we want to hear what you made of it and what better way to do that than with a poll? As you can see, we've tried to give a big variation of answers to choose from, but be sure to also sound off with your thoughts and feelings in the usual place!

Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?

Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin
Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts

You're voting criteria doesn't fit for me, because I liked it more than the Avengers, but not more than Iron Man.

I think it was "just ok" but just for entertainment purposes. Lots of visual effects, but it lacks of an intelligent story /direction behind the film, prove of it it´s the many many people giving such a dissaproval opinon for it... I only can tell that anyone can make their personal opinion by watching it. (I can only compare IM3 to Spider-Man3 or Superman Returns)

It was an awesome movie, no doubt about it. Hype and expectation are the biggest enemies of the film industry as we know it and that goes double for CBMs. The entire philosophy of "your opinion matters and screw everyone else" has made viewers and fanboys take everything for granted. Chances are we will not be getting an Amazing Spider-Man style reboot for these Marvel movies, my friends.
Don't forget, this isn't "Shane Black's Iron Man. These movies are created with Marvel as a whole, and Kevin Feige is in charge of the entire operation, and these movies are official sanctioned by the people who started the Marvel universe (sort of).

Let's put it this way... I'm not in any rush to see it again.

Oh DoubleD where you been hiding bro, don't you owe me some dough for that bet you placed on TDKR not reaching a billion.

I thought this movie was awesome. I don't get what all the whining is about. The action scenes were awesome. And the movie has heart.

I understand that we didn't get the robe wearing mandarin but we got him in some way. It was more of the Extremis story line then a Mandarin one.

But with all that said, we got to see Iron Man a whole lot in this film and that makes me happy. I mean people, THE WHOLE IRON MAN ARMORY WAS FIGHTING EXTREMIS SOLDIERS! the suits, The FRIGGIN SUITS WE'RE CATCHING TONY! What more could you want

I enjoyed it. It was nice to see stand alone film not involving SHIELD or an of the other Avengers. I did like what they did with Tony in having trouble in dealing with himself after the "New York" event. I like many, did not like what they did to the Mandarin, but it didn't ruin the film for me.

I liked it. Good story, Tony's personal nightmares, Pepper in the suit finally. More powerful main villain then i first expected. Rhodey should have had more suit-time, but OK. Better story arc then in IM2 (not setup for any other movie). Extremis-soldiers were cool.

Basicly ended well, because whatever happens to Tony Stark in future movies... he dont have any weihtload from these previous films. Lets go Avengers 2! :)

I hated what they did to Ben Kingsley's Mandarin. The role had so much potential to being a badass especially with Kingsley in the role. This is the only gripe I have with what Marvel Studios has done so far.

Other than that, the movie kicked ass.

For some reason, my post didn't work, here goes my second try:
Saw it this weekend, a few things bugged me:
1. You invite the "Mandarin" to attack you and yet, you wait for him with an untested prototype armor that can't fly and can't fire it's missiles??
2. How come Iron Patriot got disabled so easily? An Extremis soldier just has to grab his arm and he goes down like a rock?? Same goes for Iron Man.
3. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the Arc Reactor Tony has in his chest actually powered the armor, why does it need to be charger when it's on him?
4. The "Mandarin", 'nuff said.

Overall, I enjoyed the movie, but as a comic book fan, meh, but the trailer revealed all of the big "wow" moments in my mind. When I watch a trailer, it's too be teased, not to be spoiled.

IRON MAN 3 makes IRON MAN 2 look like IRON MAN 1 by comparison. Like Spider-Man 3, and X-MEN 3, it's a bloated mess of half baked ideas, useless characters and poor decisions made on behalf of the film-makers. What they did to The Mandarin is equivalent to casting Topher Grace as Venom, and Tony Stark having PTSD is as dumb as evil disco dancing Spider-Man was. Tony Stark is a man that built a freaking robot death suit to escape terrorist after having shrapnel lodged in his heart, and gets all freaked out over some cheesy lame-o aliens? Please.

It's amazing, and I'd say it's better than The Avengers...in a different way! The latter is still the absolute CBM, to me, while this one kind of puts the emphasis moe on the "movie," than the "comic book," but I know that's just what I love the most. A solid, well-driven, and surprisingly entertaining character piece.

The film had a lot of plot holes. Robert Downey, Jr. was the only thing holding it together.

Good movie. I wouldnt put it in the top teir,(IM1,X2, SM2, avengers,TDK), but it was definately not far behind, (x1, BB, SM1). Way above average, (IM2, tdkr, thor, cap). Not even in the same league as the bad ones (GL, XMO, catwoman, elektra). Definately second tier.

i am disappointed it is doing this well...
because it will give studios the idea that they can put any crap out there and make tons...

Save for the humor in the movie i enjoyed very little of it.the extremis story plot was god-awful.

Whedon will have to do alot of fixing to get this Ironman back on track.

i don't need to see this movie again....
i hope Thor2 and MOS doesn't whimper like this...
