From Academy Award®--winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton comes "John Carter"—a sweeping action-adventure set on the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars). "John Carter" is based on a classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, whose highly imaginative adventures served as inspiration for many filmmakers, both past and present. The film tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.

I was looking at the trailer and other things in this movie. I was wondering if he has powers? I saw him jumping around and breaking chains? Or are all the rest of the people and species on mars as strong as he is?

Yes, download A PRINCESS OF MARS (it's free all over the web and for the Kindle) and give it a shot. You'll be surprised. And you'll want to jump into the sequel THE GODS OF MARS immediately!

Damn, those shots are beautiful. Based off pictures, I'm willing to say epic scale of the film trumps both The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises. Thank you, Stanton!

I always enjoyed Scifi and fantasy novels but when I discovered the John Carter series created by Edgar Rice Burroughs I was hooked on the whole series. Edgar Rice Burroughs also create Tarzan too and we all know where that went. I'm now reading AT THE EARTH'S CORE from the Pellucidar series where it's a world within our world where man is primative and reptiles are the rulers that enslave them. Getting back to John Carter I feel the scenes capture what I imagine in the books and I'm looking forward to the movie in March. :)
