The title was first announced last year at San Diego Comic-Con, and now Warner Bros. Home Entertainment (via IGN) has debuted the first trailer for the next DC Comics Animated Feature to follow Superman: Red Son, Justice League Dark: Apokolips War.

The movie will focus on a whole host of DC heroes from both the Justice League and JLD as they face-off against Darkseid and his minions. The trailer mostly spotlights the likes of Superman and Batman, with only brief glimpses of John Constantine, Swamp Thing and some of the other Justice League Dark members. One would assume the magic-wielding heroes will be the main focus of the actual movie, but we'll have to wait and see.

Check out the trailer along with a more detailed synopsis and full cast list below, and let us know what you think.

The world’s greatest Super Heroes square off once-and-for-all against the despotic Darkseid – with the fate of all humanity hanging in the balance – in Justice League Dark: Apokolips War, the next entry in the popular series of DC Universe Movies. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, DC and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, Justice League Dark: Apokolips War arrives later this spring, and features the largest Super Hero cast in the history of DC Universe Movies with dozens of actors/characters spotlighted in a grand ensemble of talent reprising their roles from this six-year story continuum.

Matt Ryan (DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Constantine), Jerry O’Connell (The Death of Superman, Satanic Panic, Stand by Me) and Taissa Farmiga (The Nun, The Mule, American Horror Story) anchor the cast as Constantine, Superman and Raven, respectively – the triumvirate determined to assemble the forces necessary to lead humanity’s final attack.

Alongside that trio are the long-running core of Justice League voices -- Jason O’Mara (The Man in the High Castle, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) as Batman, Rosario Dawson (Briarpatch, Josie and the Pussycats, Sin City) as Wonder Woman, Shemar Moore (S.W.A.T., Criminal Minds) as Cyborg and Christopher Gorham (Covert Affairs, Insatiable, Ugly Betty) as The Flash – as well as JL-adjacents Rebecca Romijn (X-Men, The Librarians) and Rainn Wilson (The Office, The Meg) as the voices of Lois Lane and Lex Luthor, respectively.

Tony Todd (Candyman, The Flash) will voice the film’s key villain, Darkseid.

Guillermo Del Toro left JL Dark to do Pacific Rim 2, a movie that he wound up leaving to do Shape of Water. I wonder if he still wants to do it? I'd guess not, but you never know.

Omg, is this the conclusion to the new 52 animated universe? Is it finally over after seven long years? Please God, let it be so.

Side note: An animated Justice League movie has absolutely no business being rated R. So absurd.

Today, I saw Red Son and it was one of the best DC animated movies. Looking forward to Justice League Dark: Apokolips War.

This looks bad. Not surprising given how awful this new 52 animated run has been.

Get back to that Assault on Arkham, JL: Doom, Gods and Monsters energy after this please.

@GhostofCipher - Shazam would work great. Plastic Man would be incredible, but you'd need really fluid animation

@GhostofCipher - DC has so much good shit but they have a hard on for the Trinity.

There’s BOP, Green Arrow, the Milestone universe, Hawman and Hawgirl, Shazam.

Could be alright, but I'm hoping for more Rebirth influences in future animated movies.

Also, the R rating is weird AF

I see it has bits of Trinity War and Darkseid War, what's next? Forever Evil?
That would be dope.
