Possible Production Start Date For Zack Snyder's JUSTICE LEAGUE Revealed

It appears as if we may now have a better idea of when Zack Snyder will start shooting the first part of his Justice League movie, and it could be quite some time before we start getting casting news, set photos, and the like for this highly anticipated superhero ensemble...

Justice League: Part One is set to be released in 2017, and so as you might expect, it won't start shooting for quite some time. A rough time frame has been semi-confirmed by Deadline, who point out that Ben Affleck is clearing space in his schedule to direct and star in an adaptation of Dennis Lehane's Live by Night in Spring 2016, with his and David Fincher's remake of Alfred Hitchcock's Strangers on a Train being squeezed in before the DC Comics movie. That means that Justice League will likely start shooting late summer/early fall, but whether or not it will be shot back to back with Justice League: Part Two (which hits in 2019) remains to be seen. Either way, the next year or more will be dominated by Batman v Supeerman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad as it will obviously be quite some time before we hear about this or Wonder Woman! Thoughts?

I can dig it! Late this year was my prediction as well. But we could have to wait until 2016 for it to start shooting, since it doesn't come out until late 2017, so a 6 month shoot in the latter half of 2016 would work, with 7-9 months of post production.

That doesn't leave too much time for post-production, if we're going by the timetable set up for Batman V Superman. But I guess by then the production machine will be better oiled, the VFX/SFX tools will have been honed and people will be able to work faster and more efficiently.

The working title should be "Avengers Initiative".

If they shoot later this year, and the movie comes out in 2017...yup, the math makes sense.

@Reasonnnn

then shouldn't the name for Captain America: Civil War be "Kingdom Come". Or maybe "Iron Man 6" would be a better title...

It just means they want to get it right. After all, they still have to convince the higher-ups that this new fangled superhero genre is going to last at LEAST two years.

Justice League will end up being pushed back a year.

There's still time. DC always has time. Unfortunately it's something they use very sparingly.

@monkeyballs

Lol...I bet he'll be a little salty anyways. But, without yoss...someone has to pick up the slack. If he messes with me, I'll bring out the big guns...The Zac Efron/Iron Fist pics...or Ahnuld's kid plowing Miley...or how much Bud Light sucks...or Detroit...the Lions...the Tigers...there's lots.

Na, Snyder's figured out how to manage time now with these big projects. Which will all be produced by him as well.

All the big comicbook movies start production more than a year before the release date. So if JL pt 1 gets released in 2017, it has to start before the summer.

And with Zack's style and heavy effects, he would need extra time, so... Warner better start production early 2016.
