Batman V Superman was released to mixed-to-negative reviews and had a huge opening weekend but fell short in the coming weeks. Fans and critics were divided, with many fans going against director Zack Snyder but executive producers Charles Roven and Richard Suckle stand behind the director and discuss the
Justice League trailer and how they are happy with the fan response.
Speaking with
WSJ.com, Richard Suckle talked about the fan response to the films. "
We're ecstatic by the fan support and fan reaction that we've received,". He also talked about the Wonder Woman film and how the film will answer some questions left by her first appearance in Dawn of Justice "
It really riffed off of that. It was really looking to answer some of the questions raised, if not necessarily answered, about her place in the world as she was introduced in Batman v Superman,".
Producer Charles Roven said that he believes of Zack Snyder as a great director and how he thought about the more humourous side of Justice League. "
I’m just saying you need to pay attention [to criticism], but you also need to stay true to your vision. Zack Snyder is a great director," Roven said definitively. He credits Snyder with the initiative in showing the humorous side of Justice League with the initial reel played at SDCC, as Snyder's statement that "'Hey, I can do this too.'" Roven says the characters will continue to evolve as "
they begin to interact with each other," too.
